You know how I know we’re good? Because we never forget a shoe. Or a handbag. Or a face. OK, so not the last one. Back in the old days (you know, 2005) the fashion world saw the introduction to the “It Bag” – a bag that became every starlet’s must have accessory. One day, readers (stay with me), Mary Kate Olsen was spotted carrying a gorgeous black, studded bag that no one could identify but that everyone immediately wanted. A year later the bag (eventually attributed to the talented, Alexander Wang) was made available to the public. It was then known as “Coco”; it is now known as “Rocco”; I can afford neither one.

I have to be honest, the last time I shopped at Wet Seal I was looking for something to wear to the school dance (in other words, it was 1998), but by golly perhaps Wet Seal deserves another look! Their Stud Bottom Satchel is a pretty darn great dupe of the Alexander Wang bag. True, it’s not made out of leather but I know there are vegans among us who actually prefer that. Is there anyone out there who wasn’t crazy about some aspect of the Burberry Prorsum fall/winter 2010 collection? From the draped, ruched mini dresses, to the over-the-knee boots, to the completely delicious cropped shearling jackets—it was a sensation at the minimum, iconic at the max. And you can see why. The Shearling Funnel Neck Aviator Jacket looks like a cloud in the form of a clothing. If I could justify $3.5k for it, I so would.

Hey…Jane Aldridge stole my Mongolian lamb vest! To get back at her, I might have to steal her Barneys CO-OP Over-the-Knee Buckle Boots. Especially since they retailed for $740 and sold clean out. Of course, I’m kidding people. About the vest, at least. The boots did sell out, and there’s no reason to wonder why. Look how hot they are on Jane! Say what you will about this uber-famous bloggerista—but she’s got style in spades.

Don’t tell anyone, but I’m a Kim Kardashian style stalker. It’s one of my (few) guilty pleasures. For some reason I have this weird fascination with whatever Kim K. wears; I need to identify it, recreate it or simply gush about it. Yup, you can call me strange. How kickass are these shiny multi strap wedges by Givenchy? When I first saw the footwear collection for the S/S 2010 collection I was unsure if fast fashion chains would answer the call by replicating these extreme almost fetish-style shoes. But surprisingly a lot of them did and we’ve had several of the Givenchy shoes available for those on a lighter shoe shopping budget.

A good friend of mine recently bought a Mulberry Bayswater (a gift to herself on her birthday) and for a week straight everyone oohed and ahhed over it at the office. It is a spectacular bag, to be sure, but I think this new Mulberry takes the cake: the Alexa – a slouchier, more casual version of the Bayswater named after British style export Alexa Chung who is a true devotee of the Mulberry brand. If you haven’t heard tell of this bag yet, you will. Speculated to be the “It” bag of the moment, the Alexa sold out instantaneously on NET-A-PORTER after being added last week. Restocks are supposed to follow soon, but even still, this beautiful creation is way out of my sad little budget.

New Look Twist Lock Satchel
Now admittedly the knock-off potential isn’t immediately obvious here, but look closer. UK retailer, New Look, has created what is clearly their take on the Mulberry Alexa – Alexa’s younger sister, if you will. We’re loving the twist-lock and the oversized buckles. This tan/gingerbread color is a great match for the bag pictured above, but if you check out New Look’s site you’ll see that the other colors offered (brown, ecru and black) very clearly reference the Alexa; and the price is truly fantastic!

Brian Atwood shoes – one day I am going to buy me a pair. Definitely! Whatever he comes up with each season, I find myself loving it obsessively. Brian Atwood sure is one of the most talented and most promising shoe designers right now. The platform ankle below boots are one of the many, many reasons you gotta love him. They are perfection! These ankle boots by Faith instantly reminded me of the above Brian Atwood platforms and I think they would serve as a great alternative for British/European Brian Atwood lovers who you can’t spend that mush cash on the real deal. They are a little bit pricey at £120, but still a lot cheaper than the Brian Atwood booties. If you prefer a different color, the ankle boots also come in black and purple.

Drew Barrymore‘s outfit choices are as unpredictable as is her personality. And while she’s probably not the first who’d come to mind when thinking of a style icon, this outfit here I L.O.V.E. The actress made an appearance on Letterman to promote her newest film “Going The Distance“. Drew looked absolutely amazing in a bronze sequin top by Richard Chai with navy high-waisted Camilla and Marc pants and grey suede Yves Saint Laurent Trib Too pumps. I love how relaxed and glamourous she looks at the same time.
