At that time, there was only a loosely inspired version by Steve Madden around, but now we’ve discovered a few more budget-friendly Jimmy Choo look-a-likes and decided these sexy cutout booties deserve a post of their own.

When it comes to setting fashion trends, Dior seems to be on quite a roll at the moment. First, we had the Mise En Dior craze and now we have everybody lusting after their uber-cool “So Real” sunglasses. Karen Walker and Céline, move over! If we could crown one pair of shades the official sunglasses of 2015, it would definitely be Dior’s “So Real” frames. And even though these sunglasses are everything but affordable at $595, virtually every fashion influencer – from bloggers to fashion editors to supermodels to celebs (and let’s not forget about all the countless Instagram sightings) – has been spotted wearing these sunnies. They come in a wide range of great styles, but if I had to pick a “So Real” favorite it would probably be the crystal (clear)/silver version with the blue mirrored lenses (last one pictured below). But no matter how much hype is still to follow on these lovely shades, there’s no way I would lay down almost $600 on a pair of trendy sunglasses that’ll probably be so passé 6 months from now.

Celebrities & Style Bloggers Love Dior

Celebs such as Rihanna and Olivia Palermo as well as personal style bloggers like Chiara Ferragni (The Blonde Salad) and Kristina Bazan (Kayture) have all been spotted wearing Dior So Real Sunglasses.

Gant Brow Bar Sunglasses

Luckily, there are quite a few great Dior So Real dupe options available like this one by Gant, so you don’t have to break the bank to try the trend. Like the real deal, these sunnies also come in a broad range of styles (I counted 17!), so there’s a huge selection to choose from. And at $14.90 per pair, why not pick two?

And of course, where there’s a trend, Jessica Buurman isn’t too far behind. Their “Lotia” sunglasses which come in 11 different styles are a great alternative to the pricey Dior So Real sunnies which cost between $35 or $39. Not the cheapest pair of sunglasses I’ve ever seen, but still way more affordable than the real deal.

I also discovered these lovely Dior So Real dupes at Choies which I just had to include in this post because I’m absolutely obsessed with the rosegold version. They’re currently on sale for a little under $25, so I suggest to stock up on them while they’re still available.

I feel so sorry for shoeaholics of times gone by. If only they could have lived to see the unparalleled creativity of shoe design today. Never before in history have there been so many truly unique, funky hybrids, like the Cut-Out Boots by Maison Martin Margiela. What a belle of a boot! Part demure d’Orsay, part go-go boot. This is a pair that was made for walkin’. I wish they’d walk right on up to my front door.

Schutz “Pitoca” Cut-Out Tall Boots

Update (08/13/2015): Just discovered these super sexy cut-out boots by Schutz and thought they’d be a great alternative to the Margiela boots above. Plus, they’re deeply discounted right now ($84, down from $260). When’s boot season again?

Matiko “Kiari” Boots

Like most shoe addicts, when I see a pair like the MMMs above that are as much art form as they are shoe, and I can’t have them, I feel a little pang of despair. Then I remember that it is a consumer’s world, and there is almost always a replica to be had. Like the Matiko “Kiari” Boots. Not a d’Orsay like the MMMs, but, whoa—they are some serious statement-makers. Get ’em ‘fore they go, ladies!

I know I already mentioned that Aquazzura is having quite the fashion moment with bloggers right now, but WOW!, I then went on to discover another one of their latest top sellers: Wild Thing, a delicate suede high heel sandal with intricate lace up tassels and a fringed vamp. Now I don’t know about you, but even though the shoe looks lovely on its own, I wasn’t too compelled at first. But then I started seeing all those gorgeous personal style bloggers donning their Wild Things on Instagram and all and suddenly I found myself completely obsessed with this shoe! I love how many of the bloggers used it to either add a pop of color or to compliment their already colorful outfit. I so wish I could lavishly spend $785 on a pair of shoes, but rent is not gonna pay by itself unfortunately.

Their “Pom Pom” heels come in three different colors and I would love to have them all! Does the name Rene Caovilla ring a bell with you? If not, it definitely should and if you ask why, then just take a look at the darling shoes below and I’m sure you will all come to agree with me on this. Rene Caovilla is a family-run shoemaking business from Italy with a strong focus on jeweled luxury shoes. And as you can see, you don’t even have to be a high heel lover to be a fan. Their pearl- and bow-adorned thong sandal called “Venus” has been around for more than two decades now and is considered to be one of Caovilla’s most famous signature styles. Too bad you’d have to be pretty rich though because these babies are everything but cheap!

Lara’s Pearls & Rhinestones Bow Thong Sandals

Update (07/29/2015): Just stumbled upon these lovely and super budget-friendly Rene Caovilla Venus dupes by Lara’s and wanted to share them with you. They’re available in either white, silver or gold faux leather and are currently on sale for less than $30! Steal deal alert!

Marc Fisher “Fumi” Pearly Bow Flat Thong Sandals

Luckily, there’s no need to break the bank because these pearly bow flat sandals by Marc Fisher are the next best thing to Rene Caovilla if you’re on a budget. Fisher’s “Fumi” is astonishingly similar to Caovilla’s “Venus” sandals; the only noticeable difference being the missing crystal rim on the sole. But since they’re about one thousand dollars cheaper than the real deal, I wouldn’t complain too much about missing details.

ASOS “Funder” Pearly Bow Flat Thong Sandals

Another cute and slightly cheaper Rene Caovilla Venus alternative would have to be these faux-pearl bow thong sandals by ASOS. These are more of an “inspired by”-kind rather than an identical dupe, but I find them beautiful nonetheless.
