Christian Louboutin‘s “Greissimo” pump is one of my favorite Loubies ever! It’s such a flattering and feminine style. Simple yet so intriguing. And although I’m not too much of a vintage girl who’s all fired up for everything 50s, I must admit I’m quite smitten by the red gingham pattern of this specific “Greissimo” version. It’s the perfect shoe for a summer picnic in the park, isn’t it? Well, maybe not really – who wants grass stains on their $875 Louboutins, right? But you get the idea…

So you probably wouldn’t want to wear these Head Over Heels gingham pumps in the grass either, but at £55 per pair the damage wouldn’t be economical suicide as it would be the case with the Louboutins. Actually forget that – these are way too cute to be ruined with grass stains either. Instead wear them out in the streets where they belong, pair them with skinny jeans or your favorite summer dress and you’re bound to get compliments left and right. I promise. Miranda Cosgrove was one of many starlets to attend the 25th Annual Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards in Los Angeles yesterday. The young actress looked edgy-slash-sexy-slash-fabulous wearing a beautiful blue leather mini dress by Porter Grey which she paired with a gold glitter clutch by Edie Parker and black high heeled booties. Love this look on Miranda!

A simple summertime wedge is sometimes all a girl needs to be happy. Now what’s shocking is that this simple wedge is by Christian Louboutin – the Liberace of shoemakers! No crazy 7 inch wedge. No crazy accouterments. Just a nice pinkish/mauve patent leather shoe. If only one could “simply” find $595 to pay for this much simplicity. But oh well, how do the French say – c’est la vie!

Now let me introduce you to the Robin Hood of the shoe world, Mr. Steve Madden. Bringing (and copying) designer heels for less and giving them to the poor (yet oh-so-fab) people! Once again, he doesn’t disappoint with his “WISSPER” slingback wedge. The only truly detectable difference is the thicker slingback strap and buckle. Other than that, for $29.99 (sale price!) this is a great steal. Available in black, teal, fuchsia and white patent as well as black suede, natural linen, navy fabric and leopard.

Real vs. Steal – B Brian Atwood Fontanne Suede Colorblock Platform Pumps

I absolutely adore the entire B Brian Atwood collection for several reasons. I appreciate how the collection is true to the label yet is more of an affordable version, without straying from Brian Atwood’s vision. Though I may not be able to purchase this shoe until it hits the sale rack, if it ever does, I cannot fail to express my obsession with it. The colorblocking adds a pop of color juxtaposing a simple pump with a not-so-simple pattern. However, if you don’t want to wait until the next sale, which may never exist in fact, check out the alternative below.

Featured on a previous post, these Steve Madden pumps are making their reappearance except in colorblocking form. The shape is very reminiscent of these Giuseppe Zanotti heels, but the colorblocking is very B Brian Atwood. To mimic the B Brian Atwood look the ankle strap is removable, so you can mix and match the different style this pump boasts. The amalgam of design and inspiration behind this shoe creates an eclectic feel that will last long both regarding wearability and trends.
