Real vs. Steal – Chloé Penelope Wedge Sandals

Menswear is ultimately my favorite trend, but the femininity of these Chloé wedges is irresistible. Though they may have a feminine touch, you can wear them in a multitude of ways including menswear aesthetic. The bow tie adds just the right amount of dynamism between it and the design, without distracting from the simplistic beauty of the shoe. This would be a very fashion-worthy splurge if they were in my budget. As I am not able to invest in Chloé wedges, the steal below is a splendid alternative.

Steve Madden earns the role of a hero when it comes to imitating designs from very lavish labels, hence Chloé. First off, I have to mention my affinity for these shoes because I simply cannot find a single flaw about them. The wedge height is stellar, and so is every other detail! They are lacking the bow detail, but the buckle makes a wonderful substitute and really adds a casual element. If I have yet to convince you, check them out in a variety of tones such as natural, black, and brown.

One of the biggest trends right now is 60s inspired wear, ranging from clothing, footwear, and handbags. This Chloé “Darla” Shoulder Bag demonstrates this 60s inspired appeal, which is exhibited in more of a modern way with an emphasis on sophistication. The lady-like silhouette complements the vintage aesthetic, by which this handbag is impeccably tailored. Though I usually associate Chloé for its affinity of neutral and tan hues, I appreciate the boldness of the red color. Not that it’s ever been much of a secret, but today I’ll come out of the closet and out myself as a big Olivia Palermo fangirl. There, I said it! Now I usually don’t fall for socialite fashion, but Olivia is way too talented in the style department to be ignored due to her status of being-famous-for-being-famous. Not quite sure if she actually does anything productive besides attending what seems an endless string of fashion events and cocktail parties and, of course, strutting the streets of New York looking ultra busy while talking into her cell phone, but she sure looks impeccably styled doing so, wouldn’t you agree? My latest Olivia obsession is this classic yet fashion foward outfit which she wore a few weeks ago – love it head-to-toe! Especially the printed Paige Denim skinny jeans and the gorgeous flower ring by LeiVanKash. It might be the Olivia factor that makes it oh-so extra desirable, but I’d love to wear each and every single item she wore here and try my best Olivia impersonation.

Jeffrey Campbell “Starburst” Studded Booties

Free People always seems to get the best Jeffrey Campbell knockoffs. First they got the awesome Ann Deumeulemeester lace-up boots and now they sell knockoffs of the iconic Chloé studded ankle boots (Free People call this style “Northern Lights” while JC and other retailers named it “Starburst”). Don’t they look almost identical? The heel is a bit off, but the studs and buckles are pretty close to the original. The only downsides are that the Jeffrey Campbell studded booties don’t come in red and retail for not so affordable $198. But the boots are available in black, white and brown, so if you always wanted a budget-friendlier alternative, these Jeffrey Campbell knockoffs are probably your last and only chance as the Chloé booties are a couple of seasons old now.
