Don’t tell anyone, but I’m a Kim Kardashian style stalker. It’s one of my (few) guilty pleasures. For some reason I have this weird fascination with whatever Kim K. wears; I need to identify it, recreate it or simply gush about it. Yup, you can call me strange. I guess Monica Rose, Kim’s stylist, does a very good job because I know I’m not the only one digging Kim’s newly evolved style.

A good friend of mine recently bought a Mulberry Bayswater (a gift to herself on her birthday) and for a week straight everyone oohed and ahhed over it at the office. It is a spectacular bag, to be sure, but I think this new Mulberry takes the cake: the Alexa – a slouchier, more casual version of the Bayswater named after British style export Alexa Chung who is a true devotee of the Mulberry brand. If you haven’t heard tell of this bag yet, you will. Speculated to be the “It” bag of the moment, the Alexa sold out instantaneously on NET-A-PORTER after being added last week. Restocks are supposed to follow soon, but even still, this beautiful creation is way out of my sad little budget.

UPDATE (07/28/2010): Feast your eyes on the most awesome Mulberry Alexa knockoff to date. OK, the color of this Alexa steal version by Oasis isn’t spot-on, but the rest: Wowzers! And believe it or not: the bag is under $60. How great is that?

UPDATE (07/15/2010): OMG, I just came across these amazing and very affordable Alexa bag look-a-like by UK retailer Dorothy Perkins. Shipping to the USA is also quite OK at £10 (~$15).

Topshop Buckle Strap Satchel
UPDATE (03/31/2010): Check out this amazing Alexa knockoff bag by Topshop. It does miss the cute twist lock, but the overall look is still super similar. A little pricey at $170, but only about 1/10 of the original.

New Look Twist Lock Satchel
Now admittedly the knock-off potential isn’t immediately obvious here, but look closer. UK retailer, New Look, has created what is clearly their take on the Mulberry Alexa – Alexa’s younger sister, if you will. We’re loving the twist-lock and the oversized buckles. This tan/gingerbread color is a great match for the bag pictured above, but if you check out New Look’s site you’ll see that the other colors offered (brown, ecru and black) very clearly reference the Alexa; and the price is truly fantastic!

Drew Barrymore‘s outfit choices are as unpredictable as is her personality. And while she’s probably not the first who’d come to mind when thinking of a style icon, this outfit here I L.O.V.E. The actress made an appearance on Letterman to promote her newest film “Going The Distance“. Drew looked absolutely amazing in a bronze sequin top by Richard Chai with navy high-waisted Camilla and Marc pants and grey suede Yves Saint Laurent Trib Too pumps. I love how relaxed and glamourous she looks at the same time.

Taylor Swift‘s style can be defined as 100% girly-girl. Whenever I see pictures of Taylor she’s either wearing something frilly, sparkling, ruffled or anything with a bow on top. Take this outfit for example which she recently wore while being at a church in Maine. Curly hair? Check. Girly dress? Check. Cute shoes? Check. Et voilà – a typical Taylor Swift look. Bonus: To recreate Taylor’s exact look, you won’t have to spend more than $200.

Don’t you think Ashley Tisdale looks so much better as a brunette? Well, at least I do. It looks so much more natural on her. Another positive change I’ve observed about Ashley’s style is that she’s slowly getting away from her Louis Vuitton monogram bags, Juicy Couture sweatpants and the pink baseball caps and slowly starts to develop a style that doesn’t scream trashy and/or label whore. Case in point: her laid-back yet still chic ensemble which she wore while shopping with a fan at the JCPenney Back To School Shopping Spree Event a few days ago. Way to go, Ashley!

I’m not sure why they call these boots 50/50, when they’re 100% awesome, but I’ll take them! Stuart Weitzman has been a household name in evening shoes for a very long time. Many people don’t know that the collection features far more than glitz and glamour for the feet. There’s everyday booties, bags and wedges to name a few. In my fashionable opinion, each year the shoes get better and better looking, but the amazing comfort stays the same. So it’s no surprise that many of Hollywood’s leading ladies are consistently seen in Stuart Weitzman shoes on and off the red carpet. These below photos are sure to get you less sad about leaving summer behind.

Many fashion loving ladies have told me that they have trouble getting slim fitting boots over their athletic calves, often forcing them into ankle boots. While I love the way ankle boots look, diversity is important in a wardrobe. Luckily, these fabulous Karin boots by Promiscuous will solve that problem and get taller boots onto all feet this year!

The military trend seems to still be holding, and with shoes like the Giuseppe Zanotti for Balmain Cuff Lace Up Booties, I am totally not surprised. How can you not love this feminine-but-tough bootie? Especially right now. No matter which hemisphere you’re in, this is the ideal boot for transitioning from summer to fall, or winter to spring. But you know Balmain means big bucks. Wah.

If you’re thinking the Balmain bootie is just what you need, then direct your attention to the ZiGiny “JONI” Zip Ankle Boots. Balmain, schmalmain, I say. You can have virtually the same look for under $200, which leaves you with plenty of cheddar for the coming season’s hot pieces. And if you’re in the northern hemisphere, that means a shearling and skinny cargos to go with those booties!

Giuseppe Zanotti has been designing the shoes for Balmain ever since Christophe Decarnin took over the French fashion house in 2006. I love how Zanotti always manages to reflect the key looks of the collection in his designs. Balmain S/S 2010 was infused with military references and looking at these studded lace-up booties you can see these references here as well. The faded army green color, the shrapnel-style studs, the utilitarian zipper. Swoooooon!

Well, the color has been exchanged, but the design of these studded lace-up booties by ZiGiny has been taken over 1:1. Don’t tell anyone, but I think the tan suede color might be a little more doable than the original green color of the originals.
