Cheap vs. Cheaper

So how adorable are these purple/pink gradient cat eye sunnies from Quay Australia? VERY I’d say. And apparently so do a lot of you because these pastel-hued shades kept selling out in a hot minute and were constantly out of stock for weeks. The craze has finally calmed down a little, so if you find these sunglasses as cute as I do and have the shopping budget to opt for the real deal, happy shopping! However, if you’re looking for a quick and cheap sunglass fix to get your face fashionably through summer, check out the $18 sunnies I discovered at Urban Outfitters which look so much alike. The saving potential of $42 is quite convincing here, don’t you agree? What’s your opinion on this sunglass shopping matter: cheap ($60) or cheaper ($18), which one would you pick?

If there’s a shoe trend I noticed over the last couple of months, it’s sporty footwear with a feminine twist. Whether it be floral embroideries à la Gucci, shiny pearls à la Miu Miu, girly bows à la Puma or in this case a delicate blush pink velvet upper combined with wide satin ribbon laces, “sporty meets elegance” is one of Spring’s biggest trends! Luckily, you don’t need to spend a fortune on a pair of designer sneakers to indulge in this trend as there are various sneaker alternatives at almost any price point. And while the Steve Madden velvet sneakers aren’t terribly expensive to begin with (retail price is $79.95), we managed to find a just as gorgeous and super spot-on sneaker for under $30! Total steal alert!

Update: This post has been updated on January 31, 2017. Scroll down to see the new add.

Before you start wondering whether these oversized bow sandals somehow look familiar: yes, they are obviously inspired by the highly popular Aminah Abdul Jillil Bow Pumps which we have featured in the past except these here are open-toed which I personally find equally charming. The rest is pretty much spot-on identical; including design, color and material. And while $130 for such a beautiful shoe is not what I’d call exactly expensive, we did manage to find an even more budget-friendly alternative which looks just like the Betsey Johnson version but is $90 cheaper. The only noticeable difference is that the heel on the Betseyvilles is straight while the Betsey Johnsons have more of a flared heel. Anyway, which bow sandal would you choose and why? Cheap or cheaper? Let us know in the comments.
