Hmmm. This Lam looks a little like a very popular Lou I have been coveting for several seasons now. Love the corset-like lacing and summery cork heel. And we all know there is nothing sexier than a sandal that ties around the ankle. But what I don’t love: $790 for this pair? Um, no, thank you, Derek Lam.

Celebrity Look 4 Less – Olivia Palermo’s Bow Blouse & Camel Pants

I always hoped that part of Olivia Palermo‘s impeccable style would be the fact that she has access to the finest designer clothes and that these account for half the magic of her outfits. But now that I’ve seen her looking just as fabulous in head-to-toe Mango as if she was wearing some premium designer I think we all have to accept that this girl has style in spades; no matter the brand of her clothes. It’s always hit and miss for me when it comes to Jimmy Choo, but if I like one of their styles chances are I really like it a lot. The “Marble” mesh bootie is the puritan sister of “Quinze” which is basically the same shoe only adorned with embellishments. And while I do have a soft spot for mesh booties, I don’t see myself shelling out almost $900 for a pair anytime soon.

So we received quite a few reader requests to find a knock-off of the uber-glam Bridget strass-adorned lace booties by the legendary Christian Louboutin. These were designed by Monsieur Louboutin for Marchesa’s ethereal Spring 2010 collection and perfectly reflected the brand’s affinity for feminine details like lace and embellishments. Month after month passed by and no knock-offs were in sight. I began to think that copycats à la Madden & Campbell shy away from this particular style because of the complicity of this shoe – the fragile strass & the delicate lace – details that’ll look incredibly tacky and wrong if done cheaply. But – lo and behold! Today was one of those rare lucky days…
