Free People always seems to get the best Jeffrey Campbell knockoffs. First they got the awesome Ann Deumeulemeester lace-up boots and now they sell knockoffs of the iconic Chloé studded ankle boots (Free People call this style “Northern Lights” while JC and other retailers named it “Starburst”). Don’t they look almost identical? The heel is a bit off, but the studs and buckles are pretty close to the original. The only downsides are that the Jeffrey Campbell studded booties don’t come in red and retail for not so affordable $198. But the boots are available in black, white and brown, so if you always wanted a budget-friendlier alternative, these Jeffrey Campbell knockoffs are probably your last and only chance as the Chloé booties are a couple of seasons old now.

I’m a big fan of Stella McCartney! Very much like with Prada and Miu Miu I might not approve of EVERYTHING that is shown on the runways, but when I find myself liking something from these designers chances are high I really, really LOVE it. Case in point: Stella’s “Maia” cork wedge from last year. Despite the remote resemblance of Birkenstock shoes I am still highly attracted to this wedge. Also, how genius is the pink lining? It’s small details like these that can turn a good shoe into a truly great one. What’s not so great about it? Oh yeah, I forgot… the steep price of $735. Also the fact that it’s sold out.

Alexander Wang presented his Pre-Fall 2010 collection a few days ago and I have to admit I’m not impressed. Ever since his glorious Spring and Pre-Fall 2009 collections he just couldn’t live up to my expectations. Maybe Fall 2010 will reignite my love for his designs. I almost get the sensation that I’m looking at a Magic Eye poster when I look at this Givenchy Ottoman Stitch Stripe Jacket. It’s definitely different and very appealing to the eye. I love how Keri Hilson sports it with a pair of black skinnies and a peep-toe boot. Such elegance when it’s worn so simplified. I’m very curious to see how this jacket would look with a pair of jeans as opposed to the all-black ensemble. There’s something really fun about this household heather grey sweatshirt by Elizabeth and James gone glam. Yes, I realize it’s essentially a sweatshirt but look at it! I love it with a pair of fitted jeans, however I wouldn’t necessarily pair it with your old chucks that have been rotting in the back of your closet. Pair it with a nice pair of black pumps to bring out more of a glam look rather than a slouchy “I haven’t had my first cup of coffee“-look that Dakota Fanning is sporting. So, if $312 is a bit steep for you we have another great solution!
