Victoria Beckham

Victoria Beckham‘s clothing line might not be the most creative one; it also heavily reminds me of Roland Mouret’s designs (I think I once read that he’s her mentor), but while it may lack inspiration there’s one thing VB does certainly know and that’s how to dress a woman’s body. Her body-con pencil dresses hug a woman’s curves in all the right places which sure is one of the reasons why her line does so well with the celebrities. They’re kind of like the classy version of a Hervé Léger dress – sexy but in a subtle, elegant way. I loooove the exposed zipper on this dress! Business in the front and party in the back.

ASOS Tailored Pencil Dress With Cowl Front And Exposed Zip

ASOS, how I love thee, let me count the ways… another spot-on designer dress look-a-like from this awesome online shop (not one month has passed by this year without me shopping there at least once). And I can even give you my personal recommendation for this one because I ordered this dress in black myself. It is amazing, I tell you! Usually when I buy dresses online, there’s always at least one thing bugging me off (mostly because it looks wrong on me or fits badly on some part of my body). But when I tried this one on, it looked and fit perfectly. The material is super soft, the zipper is stable and the dress will give you that coveted hourglass shape – all for a very affordable $80. Definitely one of my favorite dresses I have in my closet. Now I’m considering ordering it in the blush version as well. #ASOSADDICTED.

I know she’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but I just love Victoria Beckham‘s style. Yes, she is painfully thin and yes, she wears painfully tall, often incomprehensible heels, but I think she always looks chic. Same holds true for her clothing line. Many celebrity clothing lines crash and burn, but hers has seemingly taken off nicely with no turbulence in sight. While out and about in NYC last September, Mrs. Beckham wore a delightfully retro sheath dress from her own line. Love that she paired it with a skinny black belt, the always enviable Hermés Birkin and the lustworthy YSL Tribtoo Pumps. Personally, I would have worn black pumps like the model, but all in all it’s a fantastic look.

Somehow, someway, Victoria Beckham manages to wake up every morning and look the picture of perfection. There’s a word us jealous girls call women like that. Just kidding. Sort of. Victoria’s form fitting dresses always scream sophistication and her endless supply of accessories are the ultimate in glamour. When she ventured into her own clothing line, I have to admit, I was a bit nervous considering we’ve seen so many of those go awry with other multi-tasking celebs. Victoria did not disappoint with a line that embodies every bit of her own class and style. Here she wore a show stopping candy apple red dress from her own collection, paired with a perfect color match in Christian Louboutin Rolando pumps.

Since Victoria’s dress is from Spring 2009, that exact style ship has sailed, but I’m sure your mama told you that where there’s a will, there’s a way. I’m pretty sure that saying came from women who cannot rest until they’ve created the perfect fashion look they’ve been lusting after – just like the ladies at InTheirCloset. Now we can rest because ASOS has given us a dress that gets the job done and Dolce Vita‘s Madison pumps are almost an exact match. The best part? The entire look comes in for under $200.

Believe it or not, but Victoria Beckham has established herself as a respected designer in the fashion world. She sure is no second Alber Elbaz (Lanvin), Riccardo Tisci (Givenchy) or Stefano Pilati (Yves Saint Laurent), but she has a huge celebrity following and as soon as anything VB hits the virtual shelves of NET-A-PORTER it’s almost all gone by the end of the day despite the ridiculous price tags. I mean, the cashmere dress below is pretty and all, but I don’t see myself paying $3k for it. No way!

ABS Seamed Peplum Dress with Brooch

If you want to update your office wardrobe with such a secretary chic sheath dress, but don’t have $3.000 laying around, ABS has a great, almost identical alternative. They added a brooch, but I think it looks quite cute on the dress. Very Jackie O.
