Valentino

Valentino‘s shoe line from the “Rockstud” collection is probably the most popular here on this blog. And even though the Rockstud shoes have been going strong in the fashion community for a couple of years, there seems no sign of declining popularity with these pyramid studded, strappy Valentino shoes. We’ve written about quite a few shoe styles from the “Rockstud” family already and today we’re finally featuring the caged t-strap ballet flats. For a flat, this shoe is about as dressy as it gets; the luxe patent leather juxtaposed the shiny studded straps = perfection! But before you fall hopelessly in love, take a deep breath and look at the price tag: $975! And that’s the lower price limit for this type of Rockstud style. Other variations of the caged flat go as far up as $1.095! Now that’s a lot of money.

Diavolina “Delight” Studded T-Strap Flats

Luckily, there are some fantastic and affordable alternatives out there for all of us Valentino-loving fashionistas on a budget. Let’s start with my current favorite Valentino steal find which is the “Delight” by Diavolina, a spot-on Rockstud flat dupe which comes in either black or nude patent. Unfortunately, at $189.95 AUD, it’s a pricey Valentino look-alike and also rather hard to get hold of outside of Australia, but nonetheless, it’s about 80% cheaper than the real deal, so I’d still consider this to be a great steal find if you’re willing to invest in a high-quality Valentino alternative.

Great flats are hard to find. Especially ones that will look chic even with work attire. These ballerinas by Valentino are perfect to wear with chic cigarette pants to the office and look just as fantastic with leggings and a tunic on the weekend. The studs give them a little bit of a vampy edge while the color makes fair-skinned legs look longer. There is even a tiny hint of a heel to balance them out and provide an extra bit of polish. But even though they are quite gorgeous, they are also a little too expensive for everyday flats. The concept is not completely lost though; there are at least a couple inspired-by versions out there for way less. Keep scrolling down for more tips and info on where to find them!

C Label Hudson 10 Studded Ballerina Flats

This first version by C Label has the same studs as the original as well as the beautiful overall shape and construction. The small difference is their slightly higher heel which I love because even though flats are phenomenal for long days on your feet, that extra half inch goes a long way. But that definitely wouldn’t change how you’d wear them; they would still be perfect with skinny or tailored boot cut trousers and a feminine blouse for work. Just throw on a colorful cardigan and instantly feel inspired by a fresh new take on a little 1950′s glamour.

GoJane Studded Flats

HOT DEAL: Use promo code “GJSHIP60” to get free shipping on your $60+ order!

The second option we found is from GoJane, and at under $25 for the pair, you can be sure you’re getting a steal. This style works especially well when worn with jeans and a tee for running errands or grabbing brunch or coffee over the weekend with friends. The cut of the shoe is the exactly same as the designer version, the only difference is the hardware and studs, which are more modest in design. But while the other styles might be dressier, these still look sharp and classic; plus your feet will thank you for giving them a day of rest once in a while.

Espadrilles! These summer shoes have risen to fame in the last couple of seasons with Chanel and Valentino leading the pack of the fabulous espadrilles. We’ve already done a Real vs. Steal on Valentino’s highly popular lace espadrilles from a few seasons ago and now they’ve updated their shoe collection with a just as stylish crochet version. But as gorgeous as they are, do you actually see yourself spending $675 (!) on a pair of highly delicate espadrilles? Well, I can’t.

I have already written in length how much I love everything “Rockstud” from Valentino, so I won’t even start elaborating how I lust over these pyramid studded ankle wrap espadrilles. But the whopping $895 price tag attached to these summer shoe beauties makes them absolutely inaccessible for me. So when I spotted the non-studded ShoeDazzle “Morena” espadrilles shown below, I thought these would be the perfect fit for a DIY Valentino Rockstud project. Personally, I’m not much of a DIYer, but since this DIY idea would only require ironing on a couple of pre-glued studs, the task sounds actually manageable even for absolute DIY beginners like me. What do you think? Are these shoes worth the effort?
