After a quick summer hiatus, we are reporting back with another Real vs. Steal post! And this one’s featuring the very famous Love Knot Bangle by Tiffany & Co.. Personally, I absolutely adore the minimalistic design of this bangle and its symbolic meaning. It shouldn’t come as a surprise that this piece of jewelry is a particularly popular wedding gift. And while I couldn’t find an exact price for this online sold-out item, I would bet, even though this is “only” sterling silver, it still is everything but a cheap buy.

I was never a huge fan of jewelry up until a few years ago because I would always feel bothered and constrained in movement when there were earrings dangling from my ears or bracelets clattering on the table. Ever since becoming a fashion blogger however, I have made my peace with the inconveniences of jewelry and even grew very fond of it. My jewelry collection nowadays is not to be scoffed at, but I’m still missing Tiffany & Co. in my jewelry drawers. This bracelet from Tiffany’s “T”-Collection would be a great starter piece for example because it’s both versatile and modern and can be either worn alone or as part of an arm party. Too bad the price tag of $5.200 is killing all my jewelry dreams though.

A few of our readers mailed us and asked for more jewelry to be featured here on this blog. Now while jewelry is admittedly not my strongest forte when it comes to finding steals, I will do my best to keep our readers satisfied. And what better way to start than with Tiffany & Co. jewelry? Introduced in 1995, the Atlas collection is named for the mythic Greek god who holds aloft an enormous globe. Created by John Loring, Tiffany design director emeritus, the Atlas collection explores the raised Roman numerals of its archetype, the Atlas watch. The collection encompasses necklaces, pendants and earrings to bangles and rings in 18 karat yellow, rose or white gold and sterling silver with diamonds. In this post we focus on the Atlas hinged bangle. The 18k gold version comes in at a whopping $6.5k – ouch!

Zenzii Roman Bangle

Luckily, you don’t have to rob a bank to get a similar look. These Roman bangles by Zenzii are a great alternative if you’re after the coveted Atlas bracelet. It’s not a total match because the Zenzii bangles feature more Roman numerals than the real deal, but it’s still a great look for less which will cost you only $28.95 instead of $6.500. Now that’s what I call a real steal!

I think ever since Breakfast at Tiffany’s every girl who’s watched the film has this romantic fantasy of walking boldly into the store in an LBD with black shades and a croissant in hand and pick out a little somethin’ somethin’. Just like this very pretty 18k gold chain link bracelet designed by Elsa Peretti which has a not so little price tag of $8.000 attached to it.

Can’t afford Tiffany & Co? Well, thanks to Forever 21 you can get the same look for 0,06% of the original’s price! The gold tone on the F21 version is more red heavy and has one chain link less than the Aegean bracelet but the overall design is strikingly similar!

We don’t often feature jewelry here on InTheirCloset but we felt that the Tiffany Legacy Collection Aquamarine Ring probably deserved an entry. After all, at $6,400 I can’t imagine an item more worthy of a “Real vs. Steal” post. The Tiffany site describes this ring as being evocative of the “Edwardian Period” and I can certainly see some Belle Époque royal donning this stunner on her index finger. Today, however, this ring, featuring a 1.26 aquamarine and a mess of round brilliant diamonds, would be the ideal cocktail ring. If you’ve got money to spare. Which I do not (hello, closet full of Forever 21 jewelry!).

The Blue Topaz Cocktail Ring featured on My Jewelry Box is the perfect, more affordable alternative to the mucho expensivo Tiffany Aquamaring Ring. Set in white gold (the Tiffany ring is set in platinum), this gorgeous bague is also available with a citrine, amethyst (love!) and green amethyst stone.
