Stella McCartney

We all love Stella McCartney‘s use of bold colors and non-animal anything. Therefore, who wouldn’t love her Viola Hokkaido T-Strap Satin Sandals? I’m not sure if she’s been influenced by Japan since the name of the Japanese city “Hokkaido” is in the title of the sandal, but nonetheless, it’s a truly eye-catching heel! I love how Natalie Portman is rocking the sandal with purple-on-purple. And this shoe would look amazing with a black dress or a classic suit! I’m just not the biggest fan of Naomi Watts baggy outfit? Tell me what you think! Anyway, if you’re looking for a steal, below you’ll find a great alternative!

It might be just me who thinks so, but for some reason I find that talent makes a celebrity that much more stylish. It might be the confidence growing out of the talent that shines through, but if I see gorgeously talented persons like Natalie Portman, Cate Blanchett, Julianne Moore on the red carpet I’m most likely to love what they are wearing because they just own whatever they’re wearing. Just like Natalie Portman did when she attended the 2nd Annual Governors Awards in LA last month. The brunette actress wore a lovely fuchsia draped Lanvin dress and matching magenta t-strap platforms by Stella McCartney.

Just in case you lived under a rock for the last few months – thigh high boots are BIG this fall. Designers like Stella McCartney, Rodarte, Louis Vuitton, Prada, Chloé and many, many more have included over-the-knee footwear into their Fall 2009 collection. Celebrities such as Victoria Beckham or Shakira are already incorporating this trend into their wardrobes and I’ve seen a few editorials showing this controversial footwear as well. They may not be to everyone’s taste, but whether you like it or not: this is not the last time you’ll see thigh-high boots this fall.

Jeffrey Campbell “Issue” Over-the-knee Boots

Leave it to Jeffrey Campbell to adapt this new, daring trend first and make it available to women without a $2.000 shoe budget. His Stella McCartney inspired perforated over-the-knee boots may not fully live up to the real deal, but they’re still a fabulous alternative for a fraction of the original’s price. If only they would’ve kept the metal cap platform, but at that price I guess you just can’t have it all. Also available in taupe/grey leather and black suede.

Poor Jessica Simpson has gotten a ton of flack lately for her weight, but personally I think her body looks awesome – it’s her fashion sense that needed some work. Fortunately, she seems to have gotten into the groove of things again (and/or has a new stylist) and has been looking every inch the beauty that she is. The paparazzi caught Miss Simpson leaving the Ritz Carlton a few days ago, wearing a Stella McCartney Floral Print dress that (and I’m pretty certain about this) needs to end up in my closet for all to be right with the world. Jess paired the dress with a motorcycle jacket, a luxurious-looking, white Derek Lam bag and grey t-straps. Now let me see: I already have grey t-straps, a moto jacket and a white bag in my closet; I’m just missing the dress. Jessica, call me if you want to do a little swap-a-roo. I have a Forever 21 dress with your name on it!

So I absolutely adore this double-breasted wool coat by Stella McCartney. It is my ideal coat! The tailoring is exquisite as is the wool felt the coat is made out of. But as usual style and quality come at a price; in this case the price is as high as $2.495. Not exactly my kind of shopping budget. But since having a good coat is essential in the winter I tried to find an affordable yet stylish alternative.

While this wool coat by ASOS doesn’t have the same fine texture as the Stella McCartney coat I still love how similar it is to the original. The coat comes in 3 colors: camel (pictured), black and pink.
