Stella McCartney is one of those designers that has a cult following. Those who are fashionably loyal to her are fiercely loyal. If you’re one of those people, then what better way to wear your heart on your feet than to nab a design that Stella herself wears? The shoes have so many great qualities, but number one in my mind is that cork matches everything, making them a go-to in any closet.

Jeffrey Campbell Cork Suede Buckle Sandals
Jeffrey Campbell brings us a true steal. Not only is their cork wedge a great match at a better price, but it’s also partially environmentally friendly since cork is a sustainable material. Pair them with jeans, shorts, skirts and dresses for a casually cool summer ensemble.

Mary-Kate Olsen is quite the trendsetter. A few weeks after being spotted on MK’s feet, Stella McCartney‘s mesh sandals hit the digital shelves of NET-A-PORTER, but sold out there super fast. If you are craving the real deal, you can still find them on Stella’s website or read on and let me show you some recession-proof alternatives.

Mary-Kate Olsen Loves Stella McCartney
At the beginning of 2009, Mary-Kate Olsen was having an obsession with Stella McCartney’s mesh sandals from the Spring 2009 collection. She was wearing them to various events and when being out and about before finally moving on to another pair of lustworthy heels which she could wear to death.

Martinez Valero “Cleo” Sandals
UPDATE (05/12/2010): Yay! Finally another Stella McCartney knockoff and this one’s absolutely fabulous I think. Martinez Valero did a great job with his “Cleo” sandals. They come in either black, nude or silver.

Bebe “Lizzy” Mesh Sandals
I always thought Steve Madden is the king of knockoffs, but after seeing so many knockoffs coming from Bebe latey, I have come to the conclusion that they deserve this title. Whenever I visit their website, new designer knockoffs have popped up just like these Stella McCartney knockoffs for example. Bebe’s “Lizzy” sandals come in 3 different colors and retail for $139.

Poor Jessica Simpson has gotten a ton of flack lately for her weight, but personally I think her body looks awesome – it’s her fashion sense that needed some work. Fortunately, she seems to have gotten into the groove of things again (and/or has a new stylist) and has been looking every inch the beauty that she is. The paparazzi caught Miss Simpson leaving the Ritz Carlton a few days ago, wearing a Stella McCartney Floral Print dress that (and I’m pretty certain about this) needs to end up in my closet for all to be right with the world. Jess paired the dress with a motorcycle jacket, a luxurious-looking, white Derek Lam bag and grey t-straps. Now let me see: I already have grey t-straps, a moto jacket and a white bag in my closet; I’m just missing the dress. Jessica, call me if you want to do a little swap-a-roo. I have a Forever 21 dress with your name on it!

So I absolutely adore this double-breasted wool coat by Stella McCartney. It is my ideal coat! The tailoring is exquisite as is the wool felt the coat is made out of. But as usual style and quality come at a price; in this case the price is as high as $2.495. Not exactly my kind of shopping budget. But since having a good coat is essential in the winter I tried to find an affordable yet stylish alternative.

ASOS Wool Metal Button Full Skirted Coat
While this wool coat by ASOS doesn’t have the same fine texture as the Stella McCartney coat I still love how similar it is to the original. The coat comes in 3 colors: camel (pictured), black and pink.

Just in case you lived under a rock for the last few months – thigh high boots are BIG this fall. Designers like Stella McCartney, Rodarte, Louis Vuitton, Prada, Chloé and many, many more have included over-the-knee footwear into their Fall 2009 collection. Celebrities such as Victoria Beckham or Shakira are already incorporating this trend into their wardrobes and I’ve seen a few editorials showing this controversial footwear as well. They may not be to everyone’s taste, but whether you like it or not: this is not the last time you’ll see thigh-high boots this fall.

Jeffrey Campbell “Issue” Over-the-knee Boots
Leave it to Jeffrey Campbell to adapt this new, daring trend first and make it available to women without a $2000 shoe budget. His Stella McCartney inspired perforated over-the-knee boots may not fully live up to the real deal, but they’re still a fabulous alternative for a fraction of the original’s price. If only they would’ve kept the metal cap platform, but at that price I guess you just can’t have it all. Also available in taupe/grey leather and black suede.
