Saint Laurent

I know this may not be the best time to be posting about summer sandals now that we’re almost halfway through fall, but I just couldn’t pass up on showing you these effortlessly chic “Tribute” slides by (Yves) Saint Laurent. I have proclaimed my undying love for the “Tribute” platform high heel version in the past and I do still love it dearly, but let’s be real: 5 inch heels just aren’t always a viable footwear option (long beach strolls and cobblestone walks, anyone?). Hence a classic pair of flat sandals like these timeless slides will probably get the most mileage during any summer vacation, especially if you can just easily slide in and out of them and take a quick dip in the pool without having to deal with untying your shoes first. Ain’t nobody got time for that, right? What I also ain’t got though, are the $595 in order to make these gorgeous shoes mine. Someday maybe, but not today. So in the meantime I will have to settle for a look for less option.

Massimo Matteo “Tina” Slide Sandals

Fortunately, I have been lucky enough to come across these amazing and spot-on “Tribute” sandal slide dupes by Massimo Matteo! They come in various uppers and colors and look almost identical to the real deal. But the best part? They’re on sale for $55.99 (down from $79) which is less than 10% of the designer version! Now that’s what I call a real steal deal, my fellow budget-conscious fashionistas!

I don’t know exactly when and why, but over the last few years heeled ankle boots have become my personal shoe kryptonite. For some reason, I don’t seem to be able to let a month go by without buying a new pair of ankle boots. I’ll usually go for pairs-with-everything black, but occasionally my “adventurous” side will get the better of me and I’ll opt for a softer, less safe shade like tan, taupe or grey. So when I first saw these beautiful, neutral-colored suede ankle boots by Saint Laurent, I was instantly smitten. They’re casual and cool, complementing and blending effortlessly into any day-to-day outfit. Long story short: Saint Laurent’s “Blake” bootie is pretty much the perfect ankle boot – EVER! But it’s also pretty expensive at $895.

Even though I’m still missing the “Yves” in Saint Laurent, I must admit that Hedi Slimane is doing a remarkable job on revamping the (Y)SL brand. I’m a great fan of the new shoes and bags line in particular. There are so many elegant and timeless pieces to choose from! I first have seen these minimalistic ankle strap heels shown below on Karla’s blog and immediately fell in love with them as they match my vision of “the” perfect ankle strap high heel sandal! If only they’d match my shopping budget as well…

Topshop UNIQUE Hi Strappy Sandals

While browsing through Topshop‘s newest arrivals today, I spotted this little fella here and was instantly reminded of the Saint Laurent Jane heels. Although the ankle strap is significantly wider than on the SL original and the price tag at $230 not exactly steal-worthy, I still think these’d be a great buy if you’re looking for a budget-friendl(y)ier Saint Laurent alternative because the overall look of these Topshop heels is still very, very similar to the designer version.

I’m such a fan of Saint Laurent‘s classic shoe line, but why does it have to be so darn expensive? Spending $685 on a pair of simple black pumps? Not in my budget, unfortunately.
