Real vs. Steal – Fendi Ankle Wrap Platform Pumps

by Velicia Hill on November 11, 2011

Ahhhh, Mommy is home! Walking around in my absolute favorite Italian designer Fendi platform pumps… not! A girl can dream, can’t she? Well, actually recall the good ol’ days when I used to giddily spend that much on shoes. But even if I wanted to throw caution to the wind and drop $785 hard-earned ones, can’t – SOLD OUT! Guess I’m not the only Fendi feign out there. That’s why I’m absolutely over the moon with the steal we’ve found below.

Pour La Victoire “Taryn” Platform Sandals

Whoa, this is a damn good imitation! “Taryn” by Pour La Victoire is almost identical. Seriously, the only thing missing are my beloved double Fs on the front of the platform. But if Fendi doesn’t move you like me and you only like the design of the shoe not the brand specifically, then for $270, getcha some!

UPDATE: This post has been updated on September 22, 2011. Scroll down to see the new add.

Leopard print is HUGE this season. I know you’ve probably heard this left and right already, but can I just say it one more time, please? Because really it is huuuuuge. Don’t believe me? Look at any given fall/winter collection lookbook, fashion mag/blog or window display. Animal print, more precisely leopard and cheetah print are taking over our closets in 2010/2011. Summer was already full of it and Fall is approaching just as strong with leopard print shoes, accessories, dresses & coats everywhere. Charlotte Olympia‘s Alice low-cut leopard lace-up booties are a perfect example why I am totally digging this trend. The print stands out yet the shoe is classic and elegant. No tackiness or any reminiscence of cheap perfume, spray tan and teased hair. That’s exactly how I love me some leopard print: wild but classy. And if you don’t take any fashion advice from me, check out the world’s most stylish socialite, Olivia Palermo, rocking her Alice leopard booties to pieces.

UPDATE (09/22/2011): I wouldn’t necessarily call these leopard print booties by Fergie knockoffs, but they will definitely give you the same look of the Charlotte Olympia heels.

Sam Edelman “Ria” Leopard Ankle Booties

UPDATE (06/25/2011): Found another Charlotte Olympia leopard bootie alternative by Sam Edelman. I wouldn’t say these are a dupe, but still close enough to evoke the same look and feel.

ZARA Leopard Ankle Boots

UPDATE (05/21/2011): Can I get a high-pitched “OMG!” for these awesome Alice look-a-likes by ZARA, please? Aren’t they just amazingly identical to the originals? Hate to disappoint you here, but these are not available to buy… yet. I found these on the US version of ZARA, but there’s no option to order them right now, so I guess it’s a preview of what’s soon to come. I’m checking the site daily though anxiously awaiting the arrival of these wild beauties. Totally going to buy them!

Pour La Victoire “Blake” Booties

I know our steal versions are usually more spot-on and less of the inspired by-kind, but even though these ankle boots by Pour La Victoire are cheetah print and lack the black heel or the lace-up detail, I still think they’re a great alternative to the Charlotte Olympia booties as they have the same look and feel. Sure, they aren’t an impulse buy at $289.95, but if you consider how you can jazz up even the most boring outfit with these darlings the cost-per-wear might well be worth it if you dare to wear this trend.

I have a friend and her favorite saying is, “I love it, when a plan comes together.” – That’s exactly how I feel about the collaboration between Giuseppe Zanotti and Balmain. And what a beautiful plan it was. These rhinestone strappy heels are just what any hot chick on the Hollywood scene needs for the perfect partner in a fashion crime (crime to look so damn good, that is) to compliment any outfit. But of course, if your red carpet moments involve the opening of a local hotspot rather than your latest movie, then you’ll wanna keep reading for great alternatives to this ridiculously priced $1.295 heel!

Vince Camuto “Aileen” Sandals

Well, hello Aileen! You’re not as flashy as the original, but for a fraction of the price I can learn to love the braided strappy detail; opposed to the flashiness of the rhinestones. By Vince Camuto & available in pale gold or steel gray.

Pour La Victoire “Briller” Sandals

Oh yeah, Houston we have NO problem with rocking this brilliant “Briller” sandal by Pour La Victoire! For a wee bit more money, we get the rhinestones. Not as much glitz as the Balmains (which is to be expected when you don’t drop over a grand), but these heels are still quite hot! Choose from ivory, black or silver satin fabrications.

So I know that tomorrow’s the day of the long awaited Royal Wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton, but the only royals I care about are these royal blue bow-adorned satin peep-toes by Pour La Victoire. Kind of what I would wear if I had a royal wedding coming my way. I could stare at these for hours, the vibrant blue really makes this shoe. It also comes in black, blush and red satin, but none of these colors compares to the elegance of a true royal blue pump.

I usually don’t bother much for flat shoes and they hardly ever catch my attention. Guess I’ll always be a girl in heels, though I do covet flat shoes from time to time especially when they’re crafted quite as well as these buckled beauties by Pour La Victoire which are absolutely adorable and lustworthy, even for a die hard heel lover like me. I picture these cuties with denim shorts and a loose fitting tank or a girly floral dress and a straw hat. PLV’s whole S/S 2011 collection has turned out really, really well and I’d sport almost any style from this collection. Too bad PLV shoes are not exactly budget-friendly.
