No. 21

Satin and mules and especially satin mules have been a major shoe trend this year, so it’s no wonder we’re still seeing many brands picking up on this trend for their fall collecions. For me, the first noticeable attention to satin mules was brought by No. 21‘s satin high heel mules which looked so cool and avantgarde with their oversized front bow pleats. A few seasons later Miu Miu came out with a similar, more playful satin shoe style that had a thick round block heel and an added jewel brooch on the vamp. And while browsing the world wide web for new designer dupes today, I discovered what seems to be a hybrid of both the Miu Miu and the No. 21 shoe. “Fallyn” by Enzo Angiolini combines the best of both worlds for less than $80! It’s a gorgeous blush pink satin high heel mule with bow pleating and a cute jewel embellishment on the side, a fabulous and affordable love child of Miu Miu and No. 21 so to speak. And did I mention it also comes in blue and black satin? Such a stylish steal find!

So I first fell in love with these gorgeous satin mules by No. 21 while writing up a Real vs. Steal post on the Mua Mua Instagram Bag last September. And it seems like a lot of you were equally in love with these beauties as I have received several reader requests to feature a budget-friendly alternative, one of them coming from Stephanie:

I have been looking for a dupe for the N°21 satin high heel mule. Please post a duplicate if you find any.

Thanks S.P.G.

Your wish is my command, Stephanie. I couldn’t find a perfect dupe yet, but I am positively sure some of the usual suspects will catch onto this shoe trend and give us a budget-friendly alternative for under $150 soon. Pretty, please?

ASOS “Havoc” High Heeled Mules

Update (02/07/2017): Spotted these cute pink bow satin mules at ASOS in the new arrivals section today and they instantly reminded me of the No. 21 version above. Not an identical dupe and unfortunately not available in green satin, but still quite close to the real deal. Price: $56 $16.50 and the “Havoc” is also available in gold.

Jessica Buurman “Shona” Knotted Stiletto Heel Satin Mules

Update (06/22/2016): Finally! A really good and spot-on No. 21 satin mule dupe popped up on our radar! We found these ones at Jessica Buurman. Available in turquoise, yellow and wine red satin for either $99 or $129. Looooove!

French Connection “Kasen” Suede Mules

Et voilà, here’s a suede No. 21 Ronny alternative I discovered at French Connection. The folding on these suede mules isn’t quite as bold and extreme as on the designer originals, but the overall look still reminds me of the No. 21 Ronnys above. Such a bummer they don’t come in a satin version though!
