First things first: I’m so sorry for not having posted over the weekend, but I’ve been out of town for the weekend because of my cousin’s wedding, so that’s my lame excuse, OK? Anyway, I am desperately looking for the perfect hybrid between a sandal and a bootie to wear on chilly summer nights. The “Rasta” cutout bootie/sandal by L.A.M.B. looks promising, but the $350 price is a big turn-off.

BCBGeneration “Jules” T-Strap Sandals
UPDATE (06/23/2010): I didn’t expect to find any more knockoffs of the L.A.M.B. heels above, but BCBGeneration just came out with a very inspired-by version. These are available in black, tan & pewter.

Bebe “Adele” Snake Trimmed Booties
UPDATE (07/31/2009): Just found another great and affordable L.A.M.B. look-a-like by Bebe called “Adele”.
Bebe’s “Adele” bootie is not as spot-on as the Steve Madden version, but you can still see where they draw their inspiration from. I much prefer the heel of this knockoff version though, so grab them while you can.

Steve Madden “PERSIS” Open Toe Booties
You can always count on Steve Madden to deliver some great L.A.M.B. knockoffs just like this one. The heels is slightly different, but everything else looks pretty much the same.

Writing for a fashion blog is probably the best excuse for hours and hours of cyberstalking Shopbop
. God, I LOVE Shopbop! Their huge selection, the various price points from super cheap to super steep, the easy navigation and site design, the editorial section, their stylists, models and did I mention international shipping is free with orders of $100+? See, there are tons of reasons to love Shopbop. And when I checked their latest arrivals today I found yet one more to add to the list which is the styled look below. I adore the color combo, the layers, the easiness of the whole look; well, basically EVERYTHING about it! Absolute perfection! – ♥ ♥ ♥

D’uh! Of course, how could I forget the prices?! All of these gorgeous items cost more than what I’d normally spend on tops, belts, shoes and shorts. So what’s a girl with a limited budget to do? Easy, I put my look-4-less skills at test and tried to recreate Shopbop’s lovely look on a more budget-friendly basis. I’m quite happy with the outcome; it’s not a 100% match and not as charming as Shopbop’s version, but the overall look & feel is almost the same and price-wise it’s totally doable.

Animal prints. They can be a dangerous thing for women; nothing spells C-R-A-Z-Y like too much print on your person or in your house. But sometimes you can’t blame a girl for not being able to get enough, because all that tiger, and zebra, and cheetah…oh my! There’s just something about it that makes you feel exotic and wild.
Animal Print Heels – Designer Edition
You know here at InTheirCloset, we love you ladies, and we want to help all of you put your best foot forward. Especially one shod in a Wang Alla wedge—the only exception to the one print, one piece rule. Since prints are quite potent, the easiest way to ensure sartorial success is to limit that zip of zebra to your shoes. So we’ve rounded up the leaders of the designer pack, for your inspiration and fascination…

I love a delicate shoe with a rocker edge. It sort of epitomizes my favorite style – soft and hard. I think L.A.M.B. must have designed their “Ricki” ankle cuff sandal with me in mind. I love the wide but delicate straps across the toes and bridge, and then that ankle cuff with grommets! These would look divine paired with a full mini skirt or flouncy, girly dress. Happily, these are on sale for $195 (original retail price of $355!), but only very limited sizes are available.

Liliana “Porter” Ankle Strap Sandals
If an almost $200 price tag is still a little hard to swallow, or if your size is just simply not available, take a look at these “Porter” ankle strap sandals by Liliana. For a mere $31, these aren’t real leather, but they have that awesome cuff and high heel. They also come in a plethora of colors: black, pewter, fuchsia, white and red.

I don’t know about you guys but I have an unhealthy obsession with caged sandals of all kinds. I picture them being worn with colorful tights or with just bare foot/leg peeking through and I think both looks are equally sexy. Because of the versatility of this kind of shoe, it can and will easily carry you through all four seasons. Leave it to Gwen Stefani and L.A.M.B. to design one of the more rock-chic versions I’ve seen. I love the back zipper too! Still readily available at many online retailers, but quite pricey at $329; you make the call.

Charlotte Russe Side Buckle Platform Sandals
I have to confess something. I’ve never actually purchased a pair of Charlotte Russe heels, despite the fact that we’ve featured many of them here. These Side Buckle Platform Sandals might just put me over the edge, though. They also come in a super cute light gray color and the pièce de résistance: they have the back zipper! At only $40 I think these may just be a must have. Available in black and light grey.

True confession: I have been sweatin’ these insanely hot L.A.M.B. platforms for a while. They meet all the V-requisites: part gladiatress, part S&M mistress; kind of sexy but kind of scary; superhigh and superfly—I don’t think superkawaii can apply because these babies have bad girl written all over them. That Gwen, she can make music, babies, and a killer pair of shoes—this pair is Zantastic!

Michael Antonio “Teeter” Platform Sandals
As much as I worship the L.A.M.B. Zan, three bills is a bit steep for an Imelda-in-the-making like me. At the rate I buy shoes, that would quickly add up to $1,500 or so every couple months. And that’s a reality I’m not prepared to deal with at this point. A better reality is the “Teeter” by Michael Antonio. All the style of the Zan, for a whopping $68. You know what that means, don’t you? That’s $236 left for…you guessed it, honey…more shoes.

I love me a good open-toe boot and these booties by L.A.M.B. certainly fit into what I’d consider a lustworthy must-have for transitional weather. The price tag however would put quite a dent into my wallet and that’s just not acceptable for me. Good thing we have the Internet to roam for affordable alternatives.

Dollhouse “Burkenna” Ankle Boots
Now I know these booties by Dollhouse are not open-toe as the L.A.M.B. ones, but the stud and grommet details look almost the same. They also retail for a whole lot less than the originals and therefore are a great alternative if you’re looking to save some cash for the upcoming christmas craze.

You know when bad style happens? Usually when celebs—or mere mortals—are trudging through everyday life: to the gym, to the gas station, to pick up the kids, to the salon. Unlike some celebs who think sloppy is permissible (or synonymous) with casual wear, Kim Kardashian knows that casual can still be chic. Her latest wardrobe trick is to throw a blazer over a long-ish top, add skinny jeans and a perilously high bootie, and POOF! It’s the perfect, practical, photo-appropriate, running-errands outfit.

These badass military style lace up boots by Ann Demeulemeester are from her Fall 2008 collection and used to retail for as much as $1.795 last year. They were a favorite of Jane Aldridge of Sea of Shoes and afterwards became very popular with many fashion bloggers and fabulous fashionistas all over the globe.

I have a slight obsession with platform pumps right now. Yesterday’s post was about Gucci, today’s gonna be about these gorgeous, mega platform heels by L.A.M.B.. They might look a bit strange first, but once you take a second look, I’m sure you will appreciate their towering height. Not appreciable is the off-turning price tag however.

Bebe Riley Satin Platform Pumps
When I look at this platform pump by Bebe I seriously don’t see a single difference between them and the L.A.M.B. heels apart from the lining and the price of course which is about 60% less. What a great pair of knockoffs, gotta love Bebe! Also available in shocking pink.
