It’s always hit and miss for me when it comes to Jimmy Choo, but if I like one of their styles chances are I really like it a lot. The “Marble” mesh bootie is the puritan sister of “Quinze” which is basically the same shoe only adorned with embellishments. And while I do have a soft spot for mesh booties, I don’t see myself shelling out almost $900 for a pair anytime soon.

Nymulgogi Faux-Suede Trim Mesh Sandals
I have no clue how to spell the brand, but Nymulgogi has come up with amazingly close Marble look-a-likes which are available in either black or nude. The price of $72 ain’t too bad either.

Don’t get me wrong: I LOVE ankle boots and all, but over the last 2 years or so I’ve become kind of sick seeing them worn with everything. Especially on the red carpet where young starlets seem to think it’s so super cool and edgy to pair chunky booties with a white frilly lace dress. Yeah, no one’s done THAT before, try-hard. Most of those girls fail when it comes to carrying off such a contrasting look.
That’s why I really appreciate when shoe designers take a different direction with the ankle bootie trend and make them look less bulky and less in-your-face. The Jimmy Choos below are a perfect example for such booties. They’re modern yet subtle, but still feminine.

N.Y.L.A. “Kupa” Studded Eyelet Booties

Liliana “Bandino” Studded Ankle Booties
These booties by Liliana are quite obviously a knockoff of the Jimmy Choos shown above. Don’t they look pretty awesome for $50 shoes? I think I even prefer these over the real Choos because of their rounder shape. Let alone the fact that of course I very much prefer their price which is way closer to my budget than the Choos. Another good thing: these booties also come in grey and purple (faux) suede.

Liliana “Bandino” Studded Ankle Booties

Luichiny “Passa Fy” Booties
While these studded booties by Luichiny might not be as close to the originals as the Liliana ones, I think it’s still very easy to see the inspiration behind these. They don’t have the eyelets and the upper material is faux leather instead of suede, but everything else screams “JIMMY CHOO“! Also available in brown.

The first time I saw Jimmy Choo‘s “Keenan” caged sandal I knew it would be lusted after. And boy was I right. Flocks of celebrities have been wearing this style and it didn’t take long to get me my first “Keenan” Real vs. Steal requests. But at that time there just weren’t any good alternatives available and I had to put the requests on hold. That was until today when I happened to stumble upon…

Animal prints. They can be a dangerous thing for women; nothing spells C-R-A-Z-Y like too much print on your person or in your house. But sometimes you can’t blame a girl for not being able to get enough, because all that tiger, and zebra, and cheetah…oh my! There’s just something about it that makes you feel exotic and wild.
Animal Print Heels – Designer Edition
You know here at InTheirCloset, we love you ladies, and we want to help all of you put your best foot forward. Especially one shod in a Wang Alla wedge—the only exception to the one print, one piece rule. Since prints are quite potent, the easiest way to ensure sartorial success is to limit that zip of zebra to your shoes. So we’ve rounded up the leaders of the designer pack, for your inspiration and fascination…

Let me be upfront about this. I am not a flats girl. The lowest heel I wear is probably a 1 inch wedge. That being said, I will often look around me, whilst out, and feel envious of all the girls who are seemingly floating on air in their cute flats. While they may not be for me, I can admit that they are a zillion times more practical than high heels and can often be just as cute. Take these Jimmy Choo Jill Studded Jelly Flats, for instance. Instead of wearing a pair of ratty old flip flops to the beach, how much cuter would it be to strut waterside in a breezy cover-up and these studded beauties? Unfortunately there is no way I’m going to spend $235 on jellies. Nope, ain’t gonna happen.

Jimmy Choo Jill Studded Jelly Flats
($235, Bergdorf Goodman)
Nina “Duffy” Jelly Flats
$39.95. You see, that’s what jellies should cost (I don’t know about you, but as a kid I always wore my pink jellies into the water). Besides the name attached, I’m really not seeing why the Jimmy Choo jellies should cost a whopping $200 more than these Nina “Duffy” flats. See-through, bling, cut-out sides, all the details are there. Now go frolic happily by the pool, knowing you saved yourself a wad of cash.

ALDO “Poduska” Jelly Flats
If you’re looking to have the blingiest (yes, I just made that up) feet on the block, why not consider these “Poduska” jelly flats by ALDO? Again, these are virtually identical to the Choos for a fraction of the cost. Add a bright coral pedicure and a fruity drink with an umbrella, and you’re well on your way to Summer fun.

Chinese Laundry “Sweet Revenge” Jelly Flats
I don’t know if you guys have fully caught on yet, but I am now on my third “steal” version of the Choo jellies. To me that says these flats are fairly easy to copy. So why would you spend a boatload of money on them?! These Chinese Laundry “Sweet Revenge” jelly flats have multi-color bling and that means more fun for your feet. Same shape and feel as the originals but much, much cheaper.

I’ve already professed my love, here on InTheirCloset, for all shoes that could be labelled “sandal-booties” so I won’t bore you with that; I will merely tell you that of all the designers who have come out with such a hybrid, Jimmy Choo probably does it best. His Karina Studded Fishnet Booties do indeed look like sexy fishnets for your feet. They accomplish the seemingly impossible: covering up the majority of the foot while still managing to look incredibly provocative. I love how they can look both sweet (see Shenae Grimes below) and tart (take a look at Anna Faris). Unfortunately the Choos ain’t cheap. These retail for $1,095. Granted they are on sale but $510 isn’t sounding much better to this broke gal.

Bumper Kakoa-79 Mesh Studded Sandals
HOT DEAL: Use coupon code “AMIPROMO20” to receive 20% OFF your entire order!
Blessedly, Bumper has created the Kakoa-79 Mesh Studded Sandal. Yes, these are lacking a certain “Je ne sais quoi” that the Choos have in abundance, but these still look great and they are incredibly affordable. They retail for $26.99, but if you use the code listed above you will save a whopping $9.45 on these heels. I mean, honestly, they’re practically paying you to take these sandals off their hands. I say take them up on that offer. Also available in pink and yellow.

Jimmy Choo can do no wrong, so let’s discuss everything that is right about these golden suede wedges. The straw wedge and suede straps are an awesome contrast to one another, both in color and texture. The knotted detail of the front of the shoe is extremely flatterring on toes of all shapes and sizes because it gives just a peep show (don’t pretend like you don’t know toes come in all different varieties). The ankle strap lends this otherwise casual shoe a bit of glam and sophistication. A perfect 10 for Jimmy Choo, but really did anyone expect less?

We’ve featured quite a few espadrilles in the last few months in anticipation of the up-coming Summer season (picnics, roof-top parties, BBQs), but perhaps you have yet to find “The One“. Well Jimmy Choo is always good for a classic, beautifully executed, luxe pump and fortunately for us the same holds true for his sandals. Choo’s Phoenix Wedges are equal parts casual-wear and effortless sophistication. Perfect for that vacation you’re planning on taking on a yacht. Oh, what’s that? No yacht in your future? Money’s tight, is it? Well perhaps we can find something a little more budget-friendly.

Wanted “Samantha” Wedges
Is it sad that I actually think the Choos above are somewhat reasonably priced? I mean, I couldn’t afford them, but after seeing so many pairs of $700+ shoes, $395 actually seems somewhat doable! Not. $50 is way more my speed. These “Samantha” wedges by shoe e-tailer Wanted are a great alternative to the pricier Jimmy Choos. Pair with a lightweight white skirt or cropped cargo pants for an easy summer look. Available colors: black & beige patent.
