Real vs. Steal – Jimmy Choo Fire Cut-Out Ankle Boots
I am naturally not attracted to red—I have a total of three red pieces in my wardrobe. But when I saw the red suede Jimmy Choo Fire Cut-Out Ankle Boots like Fergie’s (below), I fell in love. Fire indeed! They are totally hot. There’s just something about all those stripes of skin peeking through.

Vince Camuto “Aphrodite” Sandals
Who doesn’t love a Choo shoe? I know no woman alive who’d deny herself the pleasure if her finances could enable the experience. If only. Since most of us can’t fill our closets with boxes by Jimmy Choo (and because the Fire Cut-Out Ankle Boots are sold out anyway) here’s a nice consolation prize: the “Aphrodite” by Vince Camuto. They aren’t 100% like the Choo version, but still a shapely and sexy pair. Available in black, nude and natural…and I’m loving the natural for all those military looks planned for spring.

Office “BASK IN GLORY” Cut-Out Booties
Also worthy of consideration are the “BASK IN GLORY” Cut-Out Booties by Office. Love this shoe for its Choo-like similarities (the buckle detail and opening at the ankle), and also for its daring differences (woven detail and trim). It’s also available in a delectable dark taupe that really showcases the lovely detail on these booties—you must click over to Office to see the 360-degree view. I’d even go so far as to say that I like the dark taupe better than the Choo booties. Now that speaks volumes, doesn’t it?

Real vs. Steal – Jimmy Choo Grant Satin Peep-toe Pumps
UPDATE: This post has been updated on March 02, 2010. Scroll down to see the new add.
Nothing says I’m dressed up like a ladylike, satin stiletto—and these Jimmy Choo Satin Peep-toe Pumps say that and then some. They are dressy, yes, but in a restrained, Upper East Side way. Can’t you just see Lily of Gossip Girl fluttering around a charity event in them?

Martinez Valero “Orli” Satin Peep-toe Pumps
While satin and jewels are de rigeur in the world of formal wear, thankfully, an $895 price tag is not. Next time you have a semi-formal or formal event, consider the “Orli” Satin Peep-toe Pump by Martinez Valero. Like those enviable Choos, the gleaming “Orli” exudes elegance, complete with that subtle bow-and-buckle detail. If we could get the fictional Lily to sport this pair as well, she’d have $735.05 left over to give to her pet charity. Available in black, blue, red, bronze, ivory & silver satin.

Real vs. Steal – Jimmy Choo Jedd Studded Booties
UPDATE: This post has been updated on February 08, 2010. Scroll down to see the new add.
Don’t get me wrong: I LOVE ankle boots and all, but over the last 2 years or so I’ve become kind of sick seeing them worn with everything. Especially on the red carpet where young starlets seem to think it’s so super cool and edgy to pair chunky booties with a white frilly lace dress. Yeah, no one’s done THAT before, try-hard. Most of those girls fail when it comes to carrying off such a contrasting look.
That’s why I really appreciate when shoe designers take a different direction with the ankle bootie trend and make them look less bulky and less in-your-face. The Jimmy Choos below are a perfect example for such booties. They’re modern yet subtle, but still feminine.

N.Y.L.A. “Kupa” Studded Eyelet Booties
UPDATE (02/08/2010): Found another great thought pricier Jimmy Choo alternative by N.Y.L.A.

Liliana “Bandino” Studded Ankle Booties
These booties by Liliana are quite obviously a knockoff of the Jimmy Choos shown above. Don’t they look pretty awesome for $50 shoes? I think I even prefer these over the real Choos because of their rounder shape. Let alone the fact that of course I very much prefer their price which is way closer to my budget than the Choos. Another good thing: these booties also come in grey and purple (faux) suede.
Liliana “Bandino” Studded Ankle Booties
($49.90, FlyJane)
Luichiny “Passa Fy” Booties
While these studded booties by Luichiny might not be as close to the originals as the Liliana ones, I think it’s still very easy to see the inspiration behind these. They don’t have the eyelets and the upper material is faux leather instead of suede, but everything else screams “JIMMY CHOO“! Also available in brown.

Real vs. Steal – Jimmy Choo Keenan Caged Sandals
The first time I saw Jimmy Choo’s “Keenan” caged sandal I knew it would be lusted after. And boy was I right. Flocks of celebrities have been wearing this style and it didn’t take long to get me my first “Keenan” Real vs. Steal requests. But at that time there just weren’t any good alternatives available and I had to put the requests on hold. That was until today when I happened to stumble upon…

Jessica Simpson “Cesarini” Caged Sandals
… a pair of caged sandals by Jessica Simpson which look like a 100% copy of the Jimmy Choos except that these here have small studs on the straps. The heels come in either black or silver. I’m so happy I can finally offer a decent steal version for the Choos. Some girls will be very, very happy today.

Real vs. Steal – Jimmy Choo Kassidy Cutout Ankle Boots
In the coming months, you can expect to see laser-cut designs, cutouts, and slashes on everything from jeans to dresses to accessories. The peek-a-boo look is alive and well, and a easy way to work it into your wardrobe is with a cutout ankle boot like the Kassidy by Jimmy Choo. Wearing a cutout boot or shoe is a safe way to channel the suggestive feeling of cutouts, without sending the wrong message.

Real vs. Steal – Jimmy Choo Satin Diamanté Platform Sandals
I currently have an obsessive love affair with the color cobalt blue and I find myself putting everything blue I come across on my wish list. Check out this post I wrote on our sister blog Profashionelle where I show some of my cobalt blue obsessions. These crystal embellished Jimmy Choos will go right onto my christmas wish list. Unfortunately, I don’t know anyone being rich enough to buy these for me.

Miss Me “Garnet-12″ Sandals
Although not available in the adorable cobalt blue color, these sandals by Miss Me will give you the identical look of the Jimmy Choos without the hefty price tag. I just love the vibrant red color and the fact that you can’t spot one single difference between these two pairs (except QUALITY of course). The heels come in an array of 4 colors including red (pictured), black, dusty pink and light gold.

Celebrity Look 4 Less – Heather Graham in Dolce & Gabbana & Jimmy Choo
Back in June Heather Graham walked the red carpet of the Los Angeles premiere for “The Hangover” in a ravishing red satin dress by Dolce & Gabbana. The blonde actress was a total knockout in her corseted, body-con dress which she finished off with her favorite Jimmy Choo sandals and perfectly coiffed hair. Love it! This is one of my favorite red carpet looks this year.

Designer Fashion 4 Less – Jimmy Choo Atlas Strappy Sandals
Every woman should have at least one pair of strappy stiletto sandals in every basic color (like black, white, red, nude) because a strappy sandal makes a woman’s feet look instantly sexy. It sure isn’t easy walking around in high stiletto heels without looking like a squint-eyed, drunk stork, but once you have the hang of it, you’ll agree that it very well is worth the effort and pain. The Jimmy Choo sandals below would be a great investment if you are looking for high quality shoes.

Steve Madden SELLENA Strappy Sandals
Steve Madden’s Jimmy Choo Atlas interpretation is my favorite in terms of price & look. The strappy sandals come very close to the original Choos not only in shape, but also color. If you want a rather classic color, you can purchase them in black as well.

These gold strappy sandals by Jimmy Choo were some of my favorite heels from the spring/summer collection and are still on my wish list. The hefty price tag of $735 however is way out of my regular shoe budget, so no Jimmy Choos for me.
