For the last couple weeks I’ve had quite the passionate love affair with Givenchy. It really hit me out of nowhere because I remember being totally underwhelmed by the S/S 2010 collection first, but now I’m starting to warm up to the collection (minus the conehead hats, they’re still a big no). The footwear range of this collection was bold; Riccardo Tisci’s ultra-high chunky platform wedges certainly weren’t for the faint of heart. And while they’re not something I’m seeing myself rocking anytime soon, I still admire them for what they are: pieces of wearable art that is.

Jeffrey Campbell “Dipper” Open-Toe Booties
Come on, you didn’t really think Jeffrey Campbell would miss the chance to come up with their own Givenchys for the masses, did you? Say hi to the “Dipper”.

Joe’s Jeans “Lilly” Wedge Booties
Did you know Joe’s Jeans does footwear besides… jeans? Well, now you know and apparently they like getting inspired by high fashion brands as you can clearly see their “Lilly” wedge booties have quite a few Givenchy references. They basically just rounded the edges and called it a shoe. Also, do you happen to notice the almost twin-like similarities between the JC “Dippers” and these “Lilly” booties? Makes me wonder if they’re just a rebranded version of the JCs but with a higher price tag?!

Trouve “Trina” Wedge Sandals
Another great alternative to the real Givenchys are these budget-friendly wedges by Trouve. They’ve been tamed in terms of look and are not as extreme as the Givenchys, but this makes them a lot more wear- and manageable. Available in black or nude.

ALDO “Gersten” Sandal Bootie Wedges
Finally, let me present ALDO‘s take on the Givenchy wedges to you. The “Gersten”. The streamlined look and the lower platform makes this shoe probably the most wearable Givenchy knockoff out of the 4 and it’s also the cheapest Givenchy look-a-like at $100.
