Chloé

Last year during the annual Venice Film Festival in Italy Eva Mendes attended a dinner party hosted by Jaeger Le-Coultre looking like the summer goddess that she is. The actress wore a flowy white Chloé maxi dress which she accessorized with cork wedges and a luxurious diamond watch by Jaeger Le-Coultre. It’s a great summer look for a semi-formal event like a sophisticated garden party or any other outdoor event. Recreate Eva’s boho look with our equally stylish yet budget-friendly picks below.

Perhaps you’re not into the gladiator trend, but still like your sandals strappy? Then look no further! Chloé updated the the look by adding a small wedge and the overall effect is more relaxed and less Roman. The only problem is, they’re sold out. Fret not, fashion lovers…

Every now and again a shoe crosses my radar that I am totally wowed by. The Chloé Bow-Embellished Pump would fall into that category. It is a shoe that remarkably seems to transcend both the barriers of time and style. The shape of the shoe along with the crystal bows and embellishments are vaguely reminiscent, in my opinion, of the overly ornate footwear women wore in the 1700s prior to the French Revolution. And I mean that in the best possible way. But then scroll down and take a gander at how Kristen Stewart was styled while wearing these exquisite heels. She’s totally rocked out and miraculously these shoes seem to fit perfectly. All that inky black suede adds instant edginess but the crystal bows manage to sweeten the whole look. Well, here I’ve been rambling on about the awesomeness that is these shoes and, silly me, not only are they ridiculously expensive but they are also sold out. Sorry about that.

Pour La Victoire “Antoinette” Bow Pumps

Pour La Victoire is a shoe designer I’ve been following for a few years. They make beautiful, original footwear but occasionally they’ll come out with an equally stunning “inspired-by” shoe. Their “Antoinette” Bow Pumps (so perfectly named!) are not exact copies of the Chloés, but they’re similar enough that we can certainly see where the inspiration came from. Crystal bows atop a bed of black satin and a back zip closure, just like the originals. Oh, and a much easier to swallow price-tag. Yum.

I don’t know about you guys but I have been enamored with the Chloé Paddington satchel ever since it emerged on the scene 5 years ago. I wasn’t the only one, though, this bag was an instantaneous hit. Along with some sister “It” bags (the Fendi Spy bag and the Marc Jacobs Stam, both of which we’ve covered here on InTheirCloset) the Paddington began to show up everywhere on the arms of fashionable celebrities. I think it was (and continues to be) so popular because of its perfect slouchy shape, roomy interior, and of course that to-die-for hardware. Sadly the Paddington has always been out of my price-range and, due to its popularity, there is really no hope of it ever going on sale.

Baghaus “Madeleine” Padlock Tote

Now granted I don’t have this bag in my hand right now, but just looking at the picture I can tell that Baghaus really knocked it out of the park with their “Madeleine” tote. How soft and slouchy does it look? The longer shoulder handle is missing but otherwise this bag looks pretty darn picture-perfect. Available in a multitude of colors (black, brown, beige, bronze, blue, white and pewter), this bag is guaranteed to get you tons of compliments. Personally, I’m loving the beige and brown.

It’s not often that I meet a flat that I like, but these flat over-the-knee boots by Chloé aren’t exactly your everyday flat boot. A little pirate (with their folded tops), a little bondage (with those glorious leather straps criss-crossing from back-to-front), these boots are both edgy and practical. Imagine how great they’d look with black tights and winter shorts or leggings and a boyfriend cardigan? Ahhh. I can almost imagine sliding them…uh. Wait. Not at $1.295 a pair!

Jeffrey Campbell “City” Over the Knee Flat Boots

So back to that fantasy of being the ingénue in fab flat boots and shorts…thanks to Jeffrey Campbell, it is actually possible. Save yourself more than $1.000 and grab a pair of Jeffrey Campbell City Over-the-Knee Flat Boots. Like the Chloé boot, they have those wonderful criss-crossed straps, and you can still walk a mile in them. And should your feet begin to experience some pain, at least your finances won’t. Available in black, blue or ivory.
