One year ago I was not familiar with Camilla Skovgaard shoes. This quickly changed when I saw more and more celebrities wearing her shoe designs on the red carpet. Of all the new and upcoming shoe designers that are currently out there, Camilla has the biggest potential to become one of my absolute favorite shoe designers among the likes of Giuseppe Zanotti, Brian Atwood or Christian Louboutin.

Steve Madden did again what he does best – copying designer shoes. And I must admit I really like his interpretation of the “Zaha” ankle booties. Not quite the cheapest, but the quality looks great, don’t you agree?

If you want to save some more cash, you might find yourself liking these Camilla Skovgaard knockoffs by Nine West. The heel on these is thicker and they have a platform which the originals don’t have, but overall they’re still a good alternative to the pricey Skovgaard booties.

Real vs. Steal – Camilla Skovgaard S10014 Chain Sandals

Everyone here at InTheirCloset is a fan of shoe designer Camilla Skovgaard. And why wouldn’t we? As shoe fanatics we value the uniqueness and thought that reflect in Skovgaard’s designs. What I also like about her shoes is the price point. Most of her shoes retail for $400-$600 and that’s rather the low point for designer shoes these days. Of course for most of us even a medium priced Skoovgard shoe on sale for 50% can be too expensive.

Topshop PAYNE Chain Strappy Sandals

Topshop has also a very similar style; again no ragged sole. They’re a little bit steep at $190 considering the sale price of the Skovgaards is only $50 away, but if you prefer the classic design you might find yourself liking these more.

Louboutin has his trademark red sole. Rubber-soled Prada kicks have the requisite red stripe. And in case you didn’t know, Camilla Skovgaard has her own little calling card: that deliciously edgy, jagged lug sole. These Saw Open Toe Mules are a stellar example of the Skovgaard aesthetic—refined and rugged, feminine but aggressive. I simply adore a Skovgaard shoe.

In Vanessa Hudgens’ Closet – Zac Posen, Linea Pelle, Camilla Skovgaard & Nancy Gonzalez

Another great red carpet look for Vanessa Hudgens. The High School Musical actress attended the Los Angeles premiere of 17 Again on April 14, 2009 to support boyfriend Zac Efron. Vanessa was wearing a beautiful light pink Zac Posen silk dress which she paired with a chunky navy Linea Pelle belt, a red Nancy Gonzalez clutch and lustworthy Camilla Skovgaard stilettos.

On a side note: Glad to see Vanessa has finally decided to ditch her standard “Blowing Kisses”-pose. Even Young Hollywood grows up after all I guess.
