How amazing is this pair by Steve Madden for only a fraction of the price? They have the same details, with just a few modifications: silver vs. gold hardware and a slightly shorter heel. But other than that they are almost identical! Upon closer look, I think a pencil skirt and a white blouse would look fantastic with these. Alright, let’s just get right down to it, shall we? Everybody needs a trench in their closet. Everyone. That means you. I wasn’t a believer until I started wearing one myself, but I am here to tell you that they go with everything. They look simple and chic over jeans and classic and sexy over dresses. They can be worn over sweaters in the cooler months and worn over tanks in the warmer months. They are versatile and timeless, sophisticated and demure. Need I say more? Of course, there are tons of trenches out there and like pizza, despite what some people say, not every slice (or trench) is made equal. As you can see from the shearling-lining they’re from the current F/W 2010 collection (the one everyone is copying right now). Seriously, it can’t get much better than these if you think design meets function. They keep your feet warm and make you look like you just ran out of a Vogue photoshoot. Soooo good! And despite the whopping price of $1.095 these keep selling out. If I had the funds, I, too, would indulge and blow my budget by buying just these shoes and nothing else this fall.

The heel on the “BROADWY” ankle boots is sturdier compared to the stiletto-shape of the Burberry booties and they also don’t have the cozy shearling-lining, but aside from that they look very much the same. Is there anyone out there who wasn’t crazy about some aspect of the Burberry Prorsum fall/winter 2010 collection? From the draped, ruched mini dresses, to the over-the-knee boots, to the completely delicious cropped shearling jackets—it was a sensation at the minimum, iconic at the max. And you can see why. For a couple seasons now Burberry has found quite a bit of a Fanboy in me. Christopher Bailey sure knows how to amaze me collection after collection.
