Sequins + X ( x meaning anything) = FABULOUS! I adore sequins! It’s such a girly fabric. Even at my age of… grown , I can appreciate the glitz & glamour of it all. C’mon, who doesn’t need that in our otherwise ordinary lives? That’s why, at first glance, this sweet sequin dress by Alice + Olivia put the biggest smile on my face. The price tag however? I almost get the sensation that I’m looking at a Magic Eye poster when I look at this Givenchy Ottoman Stitch Stripe Jacket. It’s definitely different and very appealing to the eye. I love how Keri Hilson sports it with a pair of black skinnies and a peep-toe boot. Such elegance when it’s worn so simplified. I’m very curious to see how this jacket would look with a pair of jeans as opposed to the all-black ensemble. So, if you want to get the look and not be on the waiting list and spend $1557 on this striking jacket, here are a few more choices!

This Aryn K. blazer has slightly bigger stripes than the Givenchy and the Alice + Olivia, but I’m really enjoying the collar detail around the neckline on this one. And priced at $94, I’d say it’s pretty budget-friendly!

Tart “Camryn” Jacket

Now this Tart jacket looks the most like the Givenchy with the striping. However, it looks more of “going to the office” than a jacket that you can wear more casually. Nonetheless, if you like the look and you’re really loving the stripes of the Givenchy and want something a little more affordable, I’d go for this one!

OK, so I’m not sure how I feel about this jacket by 525 America. I like the buttons, but I feel like it should’ve been a full-length sleeve rather than a 3/4 sleeve. Especially since you have the button style of a pea-coat! It does look cute with jeans and priced at $95.99, it might suit your taste for the warmer weather that’s soon ahead.

So who hasn’t decided yet what to wear on New Year’s Eve? I know I’m still in the decision-making process. A sequin dress like the one below by Alice + Olivia is somewhat of an obvious choice, but has there ever been a better time than NYE to go all out and rock everything out of a sequin mini dress? I don’t think so. So give sequins a chance to ring in the new year with you. Granted, not everyone can or will shell out almost $500 for a sparkling cocktail dress. Writing for a fashion blog is probably the best excuse for hours and hours of cyberstalking Shopbop. God, I LOVE Shopbop! Their huge selection, the various price points from super cheap to super steep, the easy navigation and site design, the editorial section, their stylists, models and did I mention international shipping is free with orders of $100+? See, there are tons of reasons to love Shopbop. And when I checked their latest arrivals today I found yet one more to add to the list which is the styled look below. I adore the color combo, the layers, the easiness of the whole look; well, basically EVERYTHING about it! Absolute perfection! – ♥ ♥ ♥

D’uh! Of course, how could I forget the prices?! All of these gorgeous items cost more than what I’d normally spend on tops, belts, shoes and shorts. So what’s a girl with a limited budget to do? Easy, I put my look-4-less skills at test and tried to recreate Shopbop’s lovely look on a more budget-friendly basis. I’m quite happy with the outcome; it’s not a 100% match and not as charming as Shopbop’s version, but the overall look & feel is almost the same and price-wise it’s totally doable.

I remember hearing a few months back that neon colors were THE “It” thing for summer and I also recall being totally unenthused by said statement. I mean, who looks good in neon green? A trendy color scheme I can totally get on board with, however, is the nude/blush tone trend. I have yet to see someone look bad in soft pinks, warm nudes and creamy beiges. AnnaLynne McCord demonstrated this fad perfectly at a recent red carpet event. I love the girly blush tones with the crisp white oversized blazer. Personally I would have donned nude heels – either patent or open-toe… or both… but she still looks great.

I’ve come to know Alice + Olivia as an upper class knockoff brand. Each season the designer duo gets inspired by ultra high-end labels such as Balmain, Lanvin & Nina Ricci for example. Then mass retailers get inspired by Alice + Olivia designs and knock them off as well. The circle of (fashion) life I guess. This dress however appears to be an original design. It’s a super flirty frock with a bit of a nautical edge to it. Love the dress, hate the price!

LuLu*s Summer at the Hamptons Dress

Seriously, can LuLu*s get any better? God, I just adore their dupe of the Alice + Olivia dress. It’s almost identical! And the $55 price tag is absolutely fantastic! I’ve seen this dress sell out once already, so if you like it, make sure to buy it soon. It’s available in either black/rose (pictured) or taupe/white.
