Stripes. I’m still ridiculously obsessed with them and probably will never grow tired of them. That’s why I probably don’t have to tell you how I feel about this striped silk midi skirt by Tibi. And after seeing this skirt on some of my most favorite fashion bloggers, it made my obsession with it ten times worse. Not that I could give in to the temptation of buying it – that skirt costs a whopping $349 and that’s already the sale price (retail is $698)! But still… if I was rich girl (na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na nah)

Stradivarius Striped A-Line Midi Skirt

Update (07/14/2016): Just stumbled upon this striped a-line midi skirt at Stradivarius and thought it’d be a great, budget-friendly alternative to the pricey Tibi skirt above.

Eliza J Pleated Stripe Midi Skirt

Update (03/28/2016): OMG! Now look at this beauty of a skirt by Eliza J! Isn’t it just gorgeous? I love how spot-on it is to the Tibi skirt, especially since the materials look exactly the same even though Tibi’s skirt is 100% silk and this one is 100% polyester. Anyway, the material at least looks just as luxurious as the pricey real deal, so that might be close enough. Also, did I mention this skirt is on sale? But the best part? If you use promo code “JULY” at checkout, you will get 15% off regular-priced and sale items at Lord & Taylor which will lower the price of this skirt down to an affordable $135.15 (retail price is $159, offer valid through July 18th, 2016).

ASOS Midi Prom Skirt in Stripe

Update (01/12/2016): Discovered this awesome striped midi skirt at ASOS a few days ago, ordered it straight away and love it to death! It’s a great and budget-friendly alternative to the pretty Tibi skirt above, don’t you think? Sizes are selling out by the hour, so I wouldn’t wait too long with this one.

Forever 21 Contemporary Sheeny Stripe A-Line Skirt

Update (10/29/2015): Spotted another great Tibi skirt alternative today! The stripes on this a-line skirt by Forever 21 are slightly smaller, but the overall look is still very Tibi and the price is so affordable, too. Available in either ivory/black or wine/black for $27.90.

Topshop Stripe Midi Skirt

Luckily, Topshop caters to the needs of us stripe-lovin’, budget-conscious fashionistas, so they came up with a fantastic Tibi look for less option that will cost you just 1/7 of what the real deal would set you back. It’s not the cheapest skirt in town, I admit, but from what I read in reviews, the quality seems to be good and the fabric to be heavy and crease-free. And who doesn’t love to save time on ironing? Get this beauty while it’s still available, it’s almost sold out at Topshop and Nordstrom will probably follow soon as well.

Choies Striped Midi Skirt

If you love striped skirts, but don’t want to spend $100 on one, then you might want to take a look at this Tibi-inspired midi skirt I discovered at Choies. It looks very similar to the real deal, but costs only $16.90! You shouldn’t expect too much quality-wise, but if you want a cheap fashion fix for your stripes obession, this is probably the best way to go.

So I’ve already gushed in detail about the gorgeousness that is Dolce & Gabbana‘s S/S 2015 collection, but what I haven’t gushed about yet is this gorgeous floral embroidered body-con dress by House of CB which I discovered about an hour ago. I immediately had to drop everything, so I could write this blog post and share my beautiful (and budget-friendly) find with you, that’s just how excited I was about having come across this dress. House of CB has done quite the heavy copycat math on this one; somehow they managed to turn a $14.500 dress and a $7.500 skirt into a smokin’ hot $214 dress. Now that’s what I call a serious steal deal! Get this beauty of a dress before it sells out (and if you dare to wear such a racy look). Rock this frock with a bold red lip, sleek ponytail and dramatic eyeliner (hi there, Kendall!) and you’ll be the perfect Dolce & Gabbana femme fatale on a budget!

Budget Look – Cookie Monster Blue

by Irina on March 22, 2016

I’m usually not a big fan of faux fur jackets, but when I saw this cookie-monster blue concoction by n:PHILANTHROPYls (make sure to check out the rest of the collection, it’s amazing!), I was for some reason totally smitten and instantly had a thousand outfit ideas that revolved around this fluffy royal blue beauty of a jacket. One of these ideas was to pair it with a light knit pencil skirt, nude ankle boots and a matching funky handbag, so that’s what this “budget” look is all about. What do you think? Is this outfit a hit or miss?

Valentine’s Day is approaching and I’m still not a big fan. I do like to dress up for special occasions however, that’s why I decided to let my imagination run wild to create an imaginary V-Day outfit. This year I wanted the look to be bold, so I went with a red and black color theme. The floral-embroidered top is obviously the eyecatcher in this look and adds some serious drama while the rest of the outfit is kept classic yet sexy yet feminine. Do you like it? And what are your outfit ideas for Valentine’s Day?

Dolce Gabbana Spring 2015 x Nasty Gal

by Irina on February 4, 2016

Dolce Gabbana‘s Spring 2015 Collection has been by far one of my absolute favorites in the last five to ten years. Now I’ve always been a huge fan of Italian design duo Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, but S/S 2015 was especially outstandingly beautiful! All of the looks were so extravagant, so feminine, so sensual, so bold! Those floral embroideries combined with delicate lace and luxurious silks? Pure heaven! But that beauty, of course, came with a price. A skirtls from that collection for example would sell for an astronomical price of $12.500, a mini dressls went for roughly $10.000. With prices that high, there wasn’t even the slightest thought of purchasing possible.

Nasty Gal does Dolce & Gabbana S/S 2015

Then a few days ago I happened to stumble upon a few pieces on Nasty Gal that somehow looked all too familiar. And after a few seconds it suddenly hit me: Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2015, of course! I mean, just look at the model’s hair and makeup! Totally obvious! The designs themselves aren’t spot-on dupes, but close enough to pretend you’re a sultry Italian duchess. Some of the pieces have already sold out of many sizes, so lightning-fast shopping is advised.
