Budget Look – Vacay Mode

by Irina on April 29, 2016

It’s almost May which means it’s time to start thinking summer wardrobe. The weather here has been so depressing lately that I needed some sort of fashionable pick-me-up to lighten my mood, so I started dreaming about a summer vacation in Greece or Italy and all the stylish summer outfits I could wear there. And just like that a new budget look was born! This outfit has a strong focus on fringes and ruffles, a cute and casual summer look. Do you approve?

Budget Look – Cookie Monster Blue

by Irina on March 22, 2016

I’m usually not a big fan of faux fur jackets, but when I saw this cookie-monster blue concoction by n:PHILANTHROPYls (make sure to check out the rest of the collection, it’s amazing!), I was for some reason totally smitten and instantly had a thousand outfit ideas that revolved around this fluffy royal blue beauty of a jacket. One of these ideas was to pair it with a light knit pencil skirt, nude ankle boots and a matching funky handbag, so that’s what this “budget” look is all about. What do you think? Is this outfit a hit or miss?

Valentine’s Day is approaching and I’m still not a big fan. I do like to dress up for special occasions however, that’s why I decided to let my imagination run wild to create an imaginary V-Day outfit. This year I wanted the look to be bold, so I went with a red and black color theme. The floral-embroidered top is obviously the eyecatcher in this look and adds some serious drama while the rest of the outfit is kept classic yet sexy yet feminine. Do you like it? And what are your outfit ideas for Valentine’s Day?

Dolce Gabbana Spring 2015 x Nasty Gal

by Irina on February 4, 2016

Dolce Gabbana‘s Spring 2015 Collection has been by far one of my absolute favorites in the last five to ten years. Now I’ve always been a huge fan of Italian design duo Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, but S/S 2015 was especially outstandingly beautiful! All of the looks were so extravagant, so feminine, so sensual, so bold! Those floral embroideries combined with delicate lace and luxurious silks? Pure heaven! But that beauty, of course, came with a price. A skirtls from that collection for example would sell for an astronomical price of $12.500, a mini dressls went for roughly $10.000. With prices that high, there wasn’t even the slightest thought of purchasing possible.

Nasty Gal does Dolce & Gabbana S/S 2015

Then a few days ago I happened to stumble upon a few pieces on Nasty Gal that somehow looked all too familiar. And after a few seconds it suddenly hit me: Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2015, of course! I mean, just look at the model’s hair and makeup! Totally obvious! The designs themselves aren’t spot-on dupes, but close enough to pretend you’re a sultry Italian duchess. Some of the pieces have already sold out of many sizes, so lightning-fast shopping is advised.

Oh Balmain, how I love your sharp-tailored blazers! And apparently Kim Kardashian does just the same as she’s been spotted wearing this gorgeous military-inspired double-breasted leather blazer on at least 12 different outings. And if you follow Kim K.’s style, you’ll know how rare it is to see her wear something as bold as this blazer more than once, so she must be really in love with this particular piece. I so wish I could afford me some Balmain real deal goodness, but at $4.080 this isn’t going to happen anytime soon.

Kim Kardashian Loves Balmain

Balmain’s no. 1 fangirl, Kim Kardashian, has been spotted wearing Balmain Double-Breasted Leather Blazer at least a dozen times.

Vakko for INC International Concepts Faux-Leather Blazer

While randomly browsing the big ol’ Internet today, I stumbled upon this chic faux leather blazer by INC International Concepts and it stopped me right in my tracks. Everything about it looked so familiar – the design, the colors, the silhouette – and after about five seconds it dawned on me: Balmain on a budget for sure! The original price for this piece used to be $169.50 which I find to be quite heavy for a *faux* leather blazer, but luckily it got marked down to a little over $100 as of now. So if you’re a passionate Balmain lover and are willing to invest a bit to get the coveted designer look, this is a great alternative. A lovely grey faux suede version can be found here, btw.
