Olivia Palermo always looks fabulous and this look is no exception. I just love the way she paired two bold jewel tones (emerald and citrine) and made them look fantastic together. If I had to guess, I’d say the secret is the neutral basics she wore with them. The soft charcoal grey sweater softens the overall look and her handbag and accessories all compliment her skin and hair color. And then instead of the usual jewelry (like earrings or a necklace) she went for the unexpected brooches worn on her blazer’s collar. Vintage pieces like these are actually not very hard to find these days, with flea markets and antiques turning up many fun sparklers for just a few dollars. Of course, you can always get creative and repurpose some 1950’s shoe clips or clip-on earrings into a whole new look! The only thing left to finish off the outfit is some sassy red nail polish and a gold bracelet and watch. Ready to try it for yourself? Have fun shopping our awesome steals below!

Speaking about a play on words, this Funktional Silk Fold Front Top is equally funky as it provides a great amount of function and versatility. But asides from the catchy brand name, it is also beautifully crafted with a woman’s figure in mind. The draping is modern but tailored in a very classic and polished way, making this blouse a staple piece. Also, it is perfect for those body-conscious days when you had (or plan to have) a big meal for instance and creates a concealing and therefore flattering appearance. Yet $124 is still pricey, so be sure to look at the look-a-like below!

9th Wonder “Brooke” Blouse
This look-a-like by 9th Wonder features the very same draping and silhouette as the blouse above. The only differences are in the color, in which I actually prefer the taupe as it’s more wearable, and the obvious price difference. This “Brooke” Blouse can be worn with skirts, jeans and trousers – basically anything.

I have always admired Selena Gomez‘ style and till this day she has yet to disappoint. She manages to pull off a simply effortless vibe by showcasing her edgy yet casual look. Although Selena has a tendency to wear an amalgam of brands, she always incorporates a few high-end designer pieces to give her look the finishing luxury touch. On the contrary, I especially love her Steve Madden “TROPADOR” Studded Boots for a rather affordable $189.95. Her AG Adriano Goldschmied Super Skinny Legging Jeans are absolutely beautiful and also on the more affordable spectrum. What do you think of Selena’s wardrobe choices?

Declaring oxblood as a fall trend might not seem groundbreaking or particularly new as it is more of a recurring, seasonal theme that comes back year after year just like leather, tweed, mustard and jewel tones. However, some classic fall trends seem to be favored more than others each year and for 2012 we place our bets on oxblood to be the most notable trend. Sure, “oxblood” might not sound quite as appealing as “bubblegum pink” for instance, but don’t let the name scare you off this rich dark berry hue that flatters every skin tone, is considered to have a rather mystic vibe yet is a classic and totally work-appropriate color. In order to spread the oxblood trend, we’ve compiled a list with a few of our favorite oxblood-colored items, fashion- and beauty-wise.
P.S.: While you’re at it, make sure to check out more fabulous yet affordable oxblood items at Topshop and ASOS.
I usually don’t pay much attention to Gwyneth Paltrow off the red carpet. While she might look absolutely impeccable when glammed up for an event; I always thought of her off-duty style to be just so-so. Certainly not bad, but not outstandingly great either. Then I saw recent photos of Gwyneth trying to catch a flight in a pair of red Rag & Bone Newbury booties looking casually cool in a jersey longsleeve shirt, skinny jeans, oversized shades and – it’s all about the accessories here – a lustworthy Hermès Collier de Chien bracelet and the first Hedi Slimane for Yves Saint Laurent bag in mink. A winning yet comfy look in my book, so I tried to recreate Gwyneth’s relaxed airport look for less! See below for our budget-friendly Gwyneth look-a-like outfit!
