Usually I would associate rainy and cloudy days with a depressing mood, but the Banana Republic Polka Dot Trench really makes me anticipate for this kind of climate. It’s the closest match to the real deal above, but is rather a much more budget-friendly and affordable version. At a mere $150, maybe rainy days have a purpose in fashion after all. One of the hottest trends this season is colored denim, ranging from whimsical prints to solid colors. Though I find head-to-toe prints to be a bit outrageous for my personal style, at the moment I love red jeans of all tones. In terms of style, fit, and comfort, the EXPRESS Zelda Jean Legging is ultimate for those searching for an understated way to incorporate color. A few days ago Gossip Girl actress Blake Lively helped making cupcakes for a good cause at Sprinkles in NYC. The blonde beauty looked stylish and festive in a cream sheer button-down blouse which she paired with a stunning gold Gucci leather skirt from the Resort 2012 collection. I’m not sure where she was headed with the dark green Brian Atwood Maniac pumps, but since I’m really loving Blake’s upper ensemble I’m willing to overlook her shoe choice faux-pas. So who hasn’t decided yet what to wear on New Year’s Eve? I know I’m still in the decision-making process. A sequin dress like the one below by Alice + Olivia is somewhat of an obvious choice, but has there ever been a better time than NYE to go all out and rock everything out of a sequin mini dress? I don’t think so. So give sequins a chance to ring in the new year with you. Granted, not everyone can or will shell out almost $500 for a sparkling cocktail dress.
