It’s almost May which means it’s time to start thinking summer wardrobe. The weather here has been so depressing lately that I needed some sort of fashionable pick-me-up to lighten my mood, so I started dreaming about a summer vacation in Greece or Italy and all the stylish summer outfits I could wear there. And just like that a new budget look was born! This outfit has a strong focus on fringes and ruffles, a cute and casual summer look. Do you approve?

Dolce Gabbana‘s Spring 2015 Collection has been by far one of my absolute favorites in the last five to ten years. Now I’ve always been a huge fan of Italian design duo Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, but S/S 2015 was especially outstandingly beautiful! All of the looks were so extravagant, so feminine, so sensual, so bold! Those floral embroideries combined with delicate lace and luxurious silks? Pure heaven! But that beauty, of course, came with a price. A skirt from that collection for example would sell for an astronomical price of $12.500, a mini dress went for roughly $10.000. With prices that high, there wasn’t even the slightest thought of purchasing possible.

Nasty Gal does Dolce & Gabbana S/S 2015
Then a few days ago I happened to stumble upon a few pieces on Nasty Gal that somehow looked all too familiar. And after a few seconds it suddenly hit me: Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2015, of course! I mean, just look at the model’s hair and makeup! Totally obvious! The designs themselves aren’t spot-on dupes, but close enough to pretend you’re a sultry Italian duchess. Some of the pieces have already sold out of many sizes, so lightning-fast shopping is advised.

And here we are again. The last day of the year has come and once more it’s time to say our goodbyes to a year gone by so fast. Reflecting on the last 12 months: the good, the bad and the ugly makes me all melancholic, excited and thankful at the same time. I know it sounds super cliché, but I love New Year’s Eve, it always gives me that sense of new beginnings and endless possibilities laying ahead. That’s why I love to dress up on this special day and celebrate it champagne, heels and lots of glitter. This year I felt like going with a black and gold theme. Simple elegance combined with bold jewelry. Sexy and daring without being overly complicated, a mantra I also want to become my mindset in 2016. What’s yours?
A few last words: make sure to say goodbye to all the bad things that have happened to you and leave them behind in the year 2015. Concentrate on a fresh, new start, reset your body and mind and do whatever makes you happy in 2016. Happy new year, everyone!

Today I felt like doing a new budget look after seeing so many gorgeous (and budget-friendly) fall staple pieces by BP. at Nordstrom. I didn’t follow a predetermined concept on this one, but simply put together what I thought would look great together. And if you’re an avid reader of this blog, you will easily recognize a lot of designer inspiration in many of the pieces shown below. We have some Burberry, Chanel, Isabel Marant and Michael Kors inspirations going on in this look. So what do you think? Did I do a good job on this one? Can you see yourself wearing this outfit?

I think I must have already mentioned at least a thousand times how much I adore the feminine creations of Italian fashion house Dolce & Gabbana. And it seems Poppy Delevingne is also a fan because she took to the red carpet last week looking like straight out of a fairy tale wearing a gorgeous floral Dolce & Gabbana brocade mini dress, red Aquazzura pumps and a Jennifer Behr floral headband. I loved Poppy’s romantic look so much, I simply had to recreate her premiere outfit on a more budget-friendly level. How do you like it?
