When it comes to dresses I really like simple, sleek silhouettes and solid colors. So naturally, I’m a fan of this red Halston and can see it working with a multitude of outfits. The only thing not appealing to me? I’m sure many of you agree with me that it’s the astronomical price of 1.326,50 and we’re talking sale price here. It’s a beautiful dress, no doubt about that, but that price is a little out of my league.

HOT DEAL: Use coupon code “ASOS20” to get 20% OFF ASOS brand items!
Oh, ASOS, how I love thee! Let me count the ways… Once again ASOS builds bridges between craving a designer item and staying in line with your shopping budget. I think I already mentioned it’s rare that knockoffs upstage the original, but in this case I think that’s true. The gold buttons add some pizzazz that’s lacking the Halston original. The dress is available in red, navy and burnt orange and if you use the coupon code above it will waive $15.86 off the already fair price. Double yay!

Back in June Ciara walked the red carpet of the 2010 BET Awards dressed to the nines in a knockout black Balmain brocade dress with gold chain detail which she paired with a matching gold studded Balmain belt and black Giuseppe Zanotti lace-up booties. I really loved her edgy runway look, but there’s no way I could shell out 22k on a dress and 2k on a pair of shoes, so I tried to recreate Ciara’s BET outfit on a more budget-friendly level. What do you think of my picks? Yay or nay?

With every season change I’m tempted to empty my whole wardrobe and stuff it with all-new stuff again. These are my current obsessions:

Go Shopping:
- NASTY GAL Shearling Aviator Jacket, $98 – Shearling jackets? Do I really need to explain it? I love the Burberry-esque vibe, the rich brown color & the price!
- Rachel Rachel Roy Marquesa Dress
, $119 – Most of us naturally transition to dark and muted colors during the fall season which is fine with me most of my time, but sometimes I like to break up the greys, browns and blacks with a dash of color. I love the almost neon-like vibrancy of this canary yellow dress and think it would make a great and unexpected dress for all the upcoming holiday parties. - B. Makowsky “Makati” Shopper
, $288 – There’s something about this bag that screams Hermés to me. Maybe it’s the rich burnt orange color or the textured leather, I just know it would make a great addition to my rather measly bag collection. - Napoleon Perdis Devine Goddess Lipstick in Calypso
, $22 – Really addicted to hot pink lipstick right now! I think it’s a flattering though admittedly daring shade for almost every skin and hair type. - China Glaze Nail Laquer in Turned Up Turquoise
, $6.50 – The weather is absolutely at its worst here right now. It’s cold, rainy and depressingly grey. Light up your day with a hint of Carribbean feeling by opting for turquoise nail polish. - ASOS Tailored Twist Front Ponti Pencil Dress
, $65.51 – I think I declared my love for cobalt blue a few times already and with dresses I like to stick with classic silhouettes like this fine pencil dress here. - MICHAEL Michael Kors “Runway” Rose Gold Watch
, $250 – I’ve always loved rose gold jewelry and accessories ever since I was a kid and first saw them in my mom’s jewelry drawer. I’m glad the trend is coming back with Victoria Beckham’s rose gold Rolex being the trigger of the recent rose gold wave. - MICHAEL Michael Kors “Fulton” Booties
, $185 – There’s no way I could end an obsessions list without at least one pair of shoes, right? These suede Michael Kors zipper booties would make a great addition to my shoe closet and I’m sure I’d get a ton of wear out of them. - ASOS Long Hair Faux Fur Coat
, $120.68 – Now I’m usually not one to fall for big, fluffy (faux) fur coats, but this one I ADORE! It looks so soft and cozy, stylish on top and quite affordable, too. L.O.V.E.

OK, for the record, this look of Whitney Port does not cater to my personal style (I ONLY wear sneakers to the gym), but since every taste is different, I will write this from my younger sister’s point of view who’d kill for this look! So if you’re anything like her and love that I-just-threw-this-on feeling, then pay close attention. Grab yourself a cup of coffee and read along how to rock this nonchalant chic look without the rock/movie star paycheck!

I haven’t seen Anne Hathaway on the red carpet for a while, but when she attended the Love & Other Drugs premiere at the AFI Fest 2010 Anne made quite the comeback in a white lace-panelled Antonio Berardi pencil dress which she paired with nude patent Sergio Rossi slingback pumps. What I also loved was her flawless hair & make-up. Big kudos to her stylist(s)! Want to don the same outfit on a budget? See our wallet-friendly take on Anne’s knockout look below.
