Stella McCartney obviously was inspired by citrus fruits for her S/S 2011 collection because several of the pieces from the collection had this distinctive lemons/oranges/lime print. I admit it kind of reminded me of my Grandma’s kitchen curtains at first, but with the right accessories (waist belt & wooden bangles!) and attitude (I-so-don’t-care-what-you-think-of-my-outfit!) I think this dress could be rocked & rocked well. However, I don’t quite see myself shelling out more than $800 for such a difficult dress; plus, let’s just say the shape of this dress is… improvable.

So this summer dress by Limited Edition might not be a dupe for the Stella McCartney dress because it has a different shape and a slightly different fruit print, but the inspiration behind this dress is clearly visible I think. And shhhht, but in this case I prefer the steal dress because a) it’s so much more affordable and b) because the shape is much more flattering to a woman’s body. Dorothy Perkins ships worldwide btw (shipping to the US is £7.50 only).

“Spring Breakers” star Vanessa Hudgens made an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno in late March looking stunning in a yellow beaded pencil dress by Alice + Olivia. The actress completed her outfit with gold Jerome C. Rousseau high heels and matching gold jewelry. I just love this bright fitted dress on Vanessa! It really suits her caramel skin tone, don’t you agree? Yellow is such a great color for Vanessa, she definitely should wear it more often!

I think I gushed quite a few times about Wendy from Wendy’s Lookbook already. Her style blog is one of my absolute favorites and I just love how she always comes up with creative new ways to pair things together and still manages too look classy and elegant. But while Wendy can afford a wardrobe full of lustworthy designer items, most of us can’t, so I decided to recreate one of her lovely outfits on a more budget-friendly level. Do you like this style blogger look 4 less? Let me know in the comments.

Have we all noticed the vast increases of striped…anything? Pants, dresses, jackets, shoes – even bags. Everything comes in stripes this season. When I first spotted the bebe dress below I was instantly reminded of this absolutely gorgeous striped Burberry Prorsum trench coat from the S/S 2013 collection. To me it seems like the bebe dress is kind of inspired by the Burberry Prorsum trench. Do you agree?

While I think that most of Louis Vuitton‘s runway collections wouldn’t really work off the runway, I do admire Marc Jacobs for his vision and ability to inspire the fashion world. Take the S/S 2012 collection for instance. LV brought out pastels for spring and swooooooooosh, a few months later everyone was doing pastels; including other high-end designers. For Spring 2013 MJ envisioned a collection full of chess print adorned pieces and now we’re starting to see the LV inspired check print trend trickling down to the fast fashion retailers such as ASOS. What would you rather wear? Louis Vuitton or ASOS?
