Can we take a short moment here and gush a bit about the amazingness that was Elie Saab’s gorgeous S/S 2014 collection? It was such a beautiful and outstanding collection; there’s not one single thing I wouldn’t love wearing from that collection. I especially loved the floral print pieces like the cute little white shift dress with the floral print on the bottom below. Such a lovely dress, don’t you agree? So imagine my delight when I spotted an almost identical frock at Choies for a steal price of under $40! I instantly had to recreate Elie Saab’s runway look on a budget level, do you like it?

Budget Look – Stripes, Yellow & Blue

by Irina on March 10, 2014

I’ve spoken so much about the stripe trend lately one might think I have slowly gotten to the point where I and stripes are dunzo, but sorry to disappoint you: not. gonna. happen. EVER! However, I do like to update them with a touch of Spring now that we’re almost half through the month of March: in this case it’s in the form of blue and yellow accessories. What do you think of my colorful stripey budget look?

Okay, so let’s talk black and white stripes… again. This time I have a style blogger look 4 less for you which is inspired by Blair from the ever so gorgeous blog Atlantic-Pacific. Seriously, I’m in love with this girl! Not only does she have an impeccable sense of style, she also seems to have quite the obsession with monochrome stripes which makes her that much more loveable to me. I can relate, Blair, I can relate! – But anyway, how do you like my Blair inspired stripey b&w outfit?

UPDATE: This post has been updated on February 21, 2014. Scroll down to see the new add.

Stella McCartney has a way of making a simple black dress as eye-catching as any other dress in the room. And this dress is no exception. It’s a classic silhouette, but the way it’s cut in at the sides and belted is very modern and unexpected. Brooklyn and Gwyneth both wear this dress spectacularly, but as a brunette, I’d wear it with a sleek ponytail, smokey eyes, nude lips, and very little jewelry. You only need a beautiful cuff or cocktail ring and perhaps some sleek drop earrings. If you can’t afford this designer gown, but really love the style, consider the pieces we’ve put together below to create a similar look.

McBerry Optical Illusion Gown & Mettle “The Bold & The Beautiful” Belt

Up close, the look may seem different; but when you wear it in a darkened room, the optical illusion is just fantastic. This dress by McBerry does work better on fairer skin, but it’s just an idea of how you can create the same strong shape with a design that covers more skin (makes you look super toned) and pay a lot less. You can wear it as is, or add this gold belt by Mettle to kick up the glam factor. The belt is also a versatile accessory you can wear with a solid-colored cocktail dress and instantly make it look both luxurious and unique.
