So let me be honest with you. At first, I kind of hated Christian Louboutin‘s Daffodile pumps. They looked too stripperish, too high, just totally OTT. However, the more I saw these extreme platform pumps being flaunted by celebs on and off the red carpet the more I started to like them. Not sure what changed my mind about these… maybe the extra few inches gained by wearing these sky-high beauties? I’m not sure, but I do know that I certainly don’t like the $995 price tag attached to these designer heels.

I’m not quite sure who wouldn’t go gaga over the pair of Brian Atwood Drama Pumps! Gotta love that invisible platform! And I love the 50s detailing reminiscent of the saddle shoe on the heel. I usually don’t like publishing 2 consequent posts about the same brand, but in the case of Brian Atwood I think I can make an exception. His rise to fame started somewhen last year with the “Maniac” platform pump which was one of the first 5″ heels to conquer the red carpet & every female celebrity’s heart. Nude pumps were starting to make the round back then and Brian Atwood’s version was especially appealing with its hidden platform, the high arch and delicious taupe color. Despite their hefty price tag of more than $600, it didn’t take long until these were completely sold out.

Ever since I discovered Brian Atwood’s Maniac pumps I was hoping and waiting for a good copy to come along. Surprisingly, it took longer than expected, but we finally have a Maniac doppelgänger courtesy of Steve Madden. Madden’s version isn’t quite as high and the color is not a perfect match, but at that price I’m not complaining. You know green is my all-time favorite color for as long as I can remember. And even though it’s not as prominent in my wardrobe as it was when I was a child, I still have a soft spot for everything green. So imagine my delight when Christian Louboutin came out with these suede ankle strap pumps this summer. It was like good meets better. What’s not so good about these? Yeah, the price obviously.

Butter “Stanley” Ankle-Strap Pumps

Butter have obviously taken a lot cues from Monsieur Louboutin for their “Stanley” ankle strap pumps. The knotted detail, the ankle strap, the material, the color, well, they basically copied everything except for the platform which is not as high. They are quite expensive for what we’d normal post as an alternative, but if you can’t get hold of the real thing and have a little extra cash to spend these here are the next best thing. And if you happen not to be a fan of the limey color, these also come in magenta, pink and powder suede as well as gold and silver metallic leather.
