I must admit the first time I saw the “Palais” pumps by Yves Saint Laurent I didn’t like them very much. While I was madly in love with the vibrant blue suede, what I didn’t like was the carved heel and the exaggerated round toe. But as I previously said, sometimes you have to see a shoe on a person to truly recognize its beauty. And this was the case when I spotted the lovely Carey Mulligan wearing these iconic YSL pumps. From this moment on I was a reformed “Palais” lover.

I’m loving the scalloped architecture on this bedazzled pump as well! Looks great with any printed or solid dress! I really like how Anna Kendrick is rocking this fab shoe. UPDATE (12/29/2009): Jessica Simpson’s “Adreana” wedges are now available in a beautiful tan version at Zappos and Endless which comes pretty close to Vanessa’s version (see picture below).

When I saw these platform wedges by Jessica Simpson they instantly reminded me of the Cynthia Vincent wedges. They miss 2 buckles on the lower straps, but everything else looks almost identical. Available in tan (pictured), fudge or black.

Vanessa Hudgens recently turned 22 and decided to celebrate her birthday at the PURE nightclub in Las Vegas. The young starlet walked the red carpet in a simple yet striking outfit consisting of a strapless silver dress by Pleasure Doing Business (which totally looks like a Hervé Léger rip-off, but costs only a 1/4 of the original) which she paired with failproof black patent YSL platform pumps and statement rings by Elizabeth and James and Low Luv x Erin Wasson. I wish Vanessa had something done with her hair as it looks too messy for such a glam outfit, but otherwise it’s a sexy evening look for a twentysomething.

First we had Miley Cyrus donning French Chic with clogs and now we have a fabulous laid-back red carpet outfit of Vanessa Hudgens. The Disney star rocked a Madewell suede biker jacket with a white peasant top, her favorite Nudie skinny jeans, matching slingbacks by Joie and a knuckle ring by Made Her Think at the Premiere of Disney California Adventure Park’s “World of Color” in Anaheim last week. I’m also crushing on V’s loose fishtail braid.
