Yves Saint Laurent will be always one of my favorite high fashion labels. They belong to fashion much like the Eiffel Tower belongs to Paris. Where would be without this everlasting French house of delicate fashion? In 100 years from now on most designers which are being hyped right now will be long forgotten, but I’m sure YSL will be considered iconic for its cultural and aesthetic influence in our era. I’ve already professed my love, here on InTheirCloset, for all shoes that could be labelled “sandal-booties” so I won’t bore you with that; I will merely tell you that of all the designers who have come out with such a hybrid, Jimmy Choo probably does it best. His Karina Studded Fishnet Booties do indeed look like sexy fishnets for your feet. They accomplish the seemingly impossible: covering up the majority of the foot while still managing to look incredibly provocative. I love how they can look both sweet (see Shenae Grimes below) and tart (take a look at Anna Faris). Unfortunately the Choos ain’t cheap. These retail for $1,095. Granted they are on sale but $510 isn’t sounding much better to this broke gal.

Every now and again a shoe crosses my radar that I am totally wowed by. The Chloé Bow-Embellished Pump would fall into that category. It is a shoe that remarkably seems to transcend both the barriers of time and style. The shape of the shoe along with the crystal bows and embellishments are vaguely reminiscent, in my opinion, of the overly ornate footwear women wore in the 1700s prior to the French Revolution. And I mean that in the best possible way. But then scroll down and take a gander at how Kristen Stewart was styled while wearing these exquisite heels. She’s totally rocked out and miraculously these shoes seem to fit perfectly. All that inky black suede adds instant edginess but the crystal bows manage to sweeten the whole look. Well, here I’ve been rambling on about the awesomeness that is these shoes and, silly me, not only are they ridiculously expensive but they are also sold out. Sorry about that.

Pour La Victoire “Antoinette” Bow Pumps

Pour La Victoire is a shoe designer I’ve been following for a few years. They make beautiful, original footwear but occasionally they’ll come out with an equally stunning “inspired-by” shoe. Their “Antoinette” Bow Pumps (so perfectly named!) are not exact copies of the Chloés, but they’re similar enough that we can certainly see where the inspiration came from. Crystal bows atop a bed of black satin and a back zip closure, just like the originals. Oh, and a much easier to swallow price-tag. Yum.
