With this colder climate it’s safe to say that scarves are becoming an essential part of my wardrobe. Scarves can really add definition to any ensemble and are a staple piece on one of those “nothing to wear” days. This Burberry Icon Check Cashmere Scarf maintains a signature style with super soft cashmere, check print, and delicate fringe. It is the ultimate exemplar of how to liven an achromatic outfit, or just a brilliant way to stay warm this season.

Purple Rain, purple rain… please somebody, make it rain on me! I just love how good this Lux purple suede platform looks against the signature red soles of Christian Louboutin. Simply reeks of style & money. Too bad it hasn’t been raining dollar bills on me. For at $945 plenty of other purple loving pocketbooks have reigned supreme!

Nine West “Aroundtown” Platform Pumps

So we already know that you like to get down with the top designers on a budget of course. That’s why this “Aroundtown” platform by Nine West is perfect for all you around-the-(other side)-of-town girls. Of course this version is missing the distinct telltale sign of wealth – i.e., that red sole, but at least you won’t have to sell your soul to your creditors for these shoes. Because at only $99 you can have this budget-friendly heel in your choice of: black, dark pink & teal suede as well as 2 snakeskin versions.

I’m pretty sure these Christian Louboutin heels will polarize. You either love or hate them! There’s no question about these being borderline fetish; many refer to these extreme platform pumps as “stripper heels” which is also kind of true since they do have a heavy resemblance with the footwear strippers usually wear, only I do think these have a lot more class. We’ve gotten a few requests from our readers who asked us to find a budget-friendly alternative, so keep on reading to get your Loubie fix 4 less. Feel free to chime in on whether you think these are a do or a don’t.

Carvela “Active” Platform Pumps

UPDATE (06/02/2011): Just stumbled upon these super fab platforms by UK shoe brand Carvela. I think they’re a great alternative if you’re craving the Louboutin look. Available in black or nude patent.

Bordello by Pleaser Teeze-07 Platform Pumps

These Bordello by Pleaser platform pumps have been around way longer than the Louboutins, so maybe Louboutin took his inspiration from these rather than the other way round? They are borderline stripperish (more so if you consider all the other shoe styles from this line), but now that Louboutin has made stripper heels red carpet acceptable you might get away wearing these. Available in 17 (!) different colors, materials & finishes. Sequined, lace-covered, glittered… basically anything your heart could wish for.

HOT DEAL: Use code “CL15REG323” for 15% OFF reg. priced styles! Ends 05/31.

These Chinese Laundry heels have a few differences, but I’m still pretty sure Louboutin’s Lady Daf heels were the inspiration to these platforms. The platform here is super sick, right? Available in black or white.

Real vs. Steal – Balenciaga Runway Gladiator Sandals

by Velicia Hill on December 13, 2010

Off the runways and straight to my feet please, Santa! That’s right, I want these beautiful Balenciaga gladiator sandals in my stocking. I think these will have to be put on a secret Santa’s list (who has some serious cash) because at $1.245, I would need to write a “haute” check! ;)

Miss Me Dazzle-35 Sandals

Well talk about checks & balances – Miss Me has dazzled me with their version of the Balanciaga sandal. Not to mention, they made it in an array of colors: black, nude (nice!) and red patent. And at $49.95, no need to bounce any checks; save the bouncing for the kiddies on Santa’s lap.

What happens when you cross a lace bootie with a sandal? You get these sassy Lace Ankle Sandals by Givenchy—a clever alternative to the bootie. As hard as it is to believe, some people have not fallen head over stilettos in love with the bootie-with-skirts trend, and you can’t really blame them. It’s a tough look to carry, especially on some body types. But as you can see from the photo below, several celebs have figured out just how versatile and flattering this hybrid can be.

Coloriffics “Cyndi” Lace-up Sandals

Like so many other designer shoes we’ve featured here, the Givenchy pair is both steeply priced and sold out or at least very hard to get. So we offer you the Coloriffics “Cyndi” Lace-up Sandal. Although the lace on this pair rests on black suede (which cuts its transparency), they still mimic the flattering openness of the Givenchy sandal, so the look is not as heavy as a a peep-toe bootie. And hey—bonus!—the heels are not foot-wrenchingly high. Available in black and ivory.
