What celebrity doesn’t love their Louboutins? Especially when they’re bright, fun, and have lots of girly bows to make you feel extra feminine! I LOVE how Naya Rivera paired her Loubies with a pair of jeans and a cute striped blazer! Definitely puts a lot of pizazz to her outfit! Don’t want to dish out the $1.200 for these heels? No problem as we’ve got an excellent steal for you!

HOT DEAL: Use coupon code “SMFREESHIP” to get free shipping on your order!

OK, first off, this shoe comes in black suede, blush and magenta! Second, this Steve Madden version has a great wooden platform that I’m a big fan of! Granted, I still think the Louboutins are FAB, but if you’re just not willing to dish out the necessary $1.200 to make them yours, at $129.95, I think these Maddens here are the next best thing. There’s also a satin version of this shoe available called “FAAME” and it’s available in either black or champagne satin at Steve Maddencj or Onlineshoes.comls.

Sometimes I really question my sanity. I will jump at the chance to buy and subsequently wear (all night long) a pair of 5 inch heels, however when it comes to bags I am much more comfort-conscious. I carry my Rebecca Minkoff cross-body purse more than any other bag in my closet, and it’s because it’s just so darn comfortable. I really love a cross-body bag because it distributes the weight of all your worldly possessions while simultaneously looking effortlessly chic. My new favorite bag to fall into this utopian category is the Proenza Schouler PS1 Large Leather Satchel. God, it’s a beauty, isn’t it? I’m particularly lusting after the gray color Leighton Meester is carrying. Unfortunately this satchel retails for $1.595. Yes, folks, life is cruel.

Tylie Malibu Heritage Trotter Ohio THC002 Satchel

UPDATE (09/29/2011): So I know this “steal” by Tylie Malibu is probably the most expensive designer look-a-like we’ve ever featured, but I just found it way too good to pass on it. The bag might be too pricey for most of us at $495, but it’s still $1.100 cheaper than the original PS1 so I guess it does qualify as a steal. Make sure to check out the gorgeous suedecj and nubuckcj versions as well. So gorgeous!

ASOS Leather Slot Through Satchel

UPDATE (05/14/2010): I just stumbled upon another ASOS PS1 inspired version and I think it looks absolutely amazing. The bags comes in black, nude, yellow, green, mink & black/brown, is made of real leather and although not every detail is spot-on the overall look & feel is very similar to the Proenza Schouler PS1 in my opinion.

But wait! What light through yonder window breaks? ASOS‘s Leather Twist Lock Satchel is not an exact copy of the Proenza Schouler bag but it is so similar in all the ways that count (I considered seeing that Shakespeare reference through to the bitter end but didn’t want to bore you). I love the buttery looking leather and of course the long cross-body strap. I am also quite fond of the rich tan color. I truly think this is an excellent “inspired by” satchel. Now if only it came in gray…

After running this blog for more than 6 months, I don’t get as excited as I used to when spotting a new knockoff. Today, however, was one of these rare days. A few months back when it was announced that Chloë Sevigny would design a second collection for Opening Ceremony (Fall/Winter 2009), I spotted a pair of to-die-for black buckle boots on Chloë’s feet and I instantly fell in love.

It was one of these shoe obsessions where I was even willing to take the plunge and go for the real deal, but my enthusiasm came to an abrupt end when I learned that a) the buckle boots wouldn’t be available until late August/September and b) were priced at $625 which is twice the price I expected/hoped them to be.

UPDATE (04/21/2010): Steve Madden is a little late with his designer inspired “REANA” wedges, but I quite like his take on the O.C. wedge booties.

UPDATE (02/12/2010): Jeffrey Campbell just can’t get over Chloë’s wedges for O.C. Here’s his newest interpretation called “Genius” – Pretty darn close to the originals, don’t you think? Available in grey or khaki.

Jeffrey Campbell Potion Ankle Boots

I tried to find reasonably priced knockoffs for weeks, but never found anything noteworthy. Until today when I accidentally stumbled upon these buckled boots by Jeffrey Campbell. Just look at them, they look almost the same except the original O.C. boots have those additional buckle caps which is a minor bummer, but otherwise they are identical and cost only 1/6 of the originals’ price. Big YAY!

When I was younger I used to have a phase when I would refuse to wear anything else than jeans and a graphic tee. I remember how I thought I was so fab back then. Now that I’m older I fortunately am over that phase, but every once in a while I see my past obsession for graphic t-shirts rekindle. But who wouldn’t want to own the cute Lanvin bow tank below anyway?

Alice + Olivia Painted Face and Bow Tee

Alice + Olivia is usually not a brand associated with knockoffs, but the printed t-shirt below with the big black bow is obviously the original brainchild of Lanvin’s Alber Elbaz. I don’t know how I feel about upscale knockoffs to be honest. Take this tee for example: it’s not exactly a steal at $198. And it ain’t the real Lanvin either. If you’re willing to shell out almost $200 of your hard-earned money, do you want to run around in what’s just an expensive copy in the end? Knowing that for an additional $100 you could’ve owned the original? I don’t think so. However, if you’re not able to track the Lanvin down, you may be excused to go for this look-a-like.
