Budget Look – Welcoming Spring in Pastel Pink

by Irina on February 28, 2017

Spring is officially around the corner and I can’t wait to ditch all of my winter clothes and finally pull out airy dresses and open-toed sandals from their winter hiatus. But since Spring isn’t in full bloom yet, we can’t probably do without a warm coat or jacket, but we can definitely welcome the new season by lightening up our wardrobe with pastel colors for example which is what I tried to do in this week’s budget look edition. Let me know if you like it!

Update: This post has been updated on March 27, 2016. Scroll down to see the new add.

In the last few years, I always felt attracted to these oversized, men’s like Michael Kors-type of watches, but lately I’ve been more and more finding myself flirting with the idea to purchase one of these tiny, feminine, classic women’s watches such as the “Tank Anglaise” by Cartier. It’s such a timeless design and I have no doubt I could still wear it in either 5 or 50 years from now on and still look great. But $33.900? We don’t even need to begin the discussion of possibly purchasing or saving up for it because it’s way, way out of my price league…or universe even.

Juicy Couture “Darby” Watch

However, a few days ago I happened to stumble upon this set of watches by Juicy Couture and the design instantly reminded me of Cartier’s Tank Anglaise timepiece. There are a couple differences, but considering the huge price difference (the JC version cost either $195 (silver) or $250 (gold) compared to the $33.000 for the Cartier watch) I don’t think it’s much of a big deal.

($250, Lord & Taylor)

P.S.: Also available at Amazonamazon & Nordstromls.

Chances are you’re already well aware of Daniel Wellington watches. The brand is admittedly a little overrepresented in the fashion blogosphere and on social media, but even though it seems like every other fashion blogger is showing off their DW timepiece in their Instagram feed, I still find these watches very beautiful and I love the fact that you can exchange the straps (my favorites are the nautical inspired ones such as the Canterbury and the Warwick). They are not the most expensive watches (most prices are based around the $200 mark), but if you don’t feel like spending that much on a watch made in China, read on to find some cheaper alternatives.

Budget Look – Cozy Meets Elegant by BP.

by Irina on November 5, 2015

Today I felt like doing a new budget look after seeing so many gorgeous (and budget-friendly) fall staple pieces by BP. at Nordstrom. I didn’t follow a predetermined concept on this one, but simply put together what I thought would look great together. And if you’re an avid reader of this blog, you will easily recognize a lot of designer inspiration in many of the pieces shown below. We have some Burberry, Chanel, Isabel Marant and Michael Kors inspirations going on in this look. So what do you think? Did I do a good job on this one? Can you see yourself wearing this outfit?

Budget Look – Pastel Pink Summer Outfit

by Irina on August 30, 2015

I know many of you are already preparing for the fall season (fashion-wise and mentally), but I’m not quite done with summer yet. Especially not with summer’s soft and fun side: light, pastel color palettes, sleeveless tops, short shorts and naked toes. Oh how I’m gonna miss all that in the next 6-9 months! So before I can dive into fall fashion, I had to kiss summer goodbye with one last imaginary outfit. What do you think? Do you like it?
