So can we first gush a little about the incredibly talented lady that is Wendy from Wendy’s Lookbook?! Seriously, girl has got mad style & a very refined taste. Her outfits are always so well put together; never bland or boring. Case in point: this lovely striped outfit that instantly caught my eye. So I decided to recreate it on a more budget-friendly level. What do you think? Does it do Wendy’s style justice? I can’t believe she’s been style blogging only a little over a year. Such a pro already! Haven’t heard of Wendy yet? Then hop over to her blog and make sure to subscribe to her just as lovely channel on YouTube (she’s awesome at doing fashion-related videos, too!)

Posting a steal find for an Alexander McQueen item always makes me a little sad because I feel very strongly about the brand and the designer and would like to be able to support it by buying the real deal, however my budget says otherwise. McQueen’s iconic skull print scarves have been around for a while now and it didn’t take long before they became a celebrity staple. And who can blame them really? The scarves, which are now available in a million color combinations, are absolutely fabulous; scary skulls printed on delicate silk? Gotta love the contradiction. What’s not to love though? The price of almost $300, obviously.

I’m a sucker for all things ASOS, but in the last few months and weeks I kind of fell out of love with it a little. The new arrivals didn’t thrill me, promotions became fewer and not so attractive and I just wasn’t feeling like shopping there. Obvioulsly that changed today when I saw a buck load of new bright and colorful arrivals which ignited the spark again. Check out my latest ASOS obsessions below and let me know what you think of my selection. Oooh, and if you decide to shop at ASOS in the coming days, there’s a great promo going right now until 01/22/2012: spend $150 or more and get $30 OFF full price items. Simply enter code “USSAVE30” at checkout to see your savings!

Scarves are a great way to accessorize, but not for $325. As much as I adore this Burberry Giant Check Wool Silk Gauze Scarf, it’s way beyond my price range. It seems to be a bit light for winter in my area, but perfect for warmer seasons. No need to worry about the price because the scarf below is practically identical and very affordable.

Melrose Glam “Classic Nova” Scarf
HOT DEAL: Use promo code “INTHEIRCLOSET” to get 10% OFF your order!
To be honest, I actually like this scarf more than the one by Burberry. I think that the darker pigmentation of the Melrose Glam “Classic Nova” Scarf looks more expensive, but the best part is that it’s only $10. This would make a lovely accessory for really any outfit, and also a great gift for someone who loves the classic Burberry style.
