Can you believe half of the year has almost already gone by? Time flies, my friends, and summer has officially arrived – at least in our calendars! In order to celebrate the seasonal change, I created my first 2015 summer budget look to properly welcome the season of pool parties, BBQs, tan lines and cool drinks. For this look I took to the summer sky as my source of inspiration: baby blue with a little bit of cloudy white here and there and splashes of summery yellow everywhere in between.

When scouring the big interwebs for designer dupes I automatically stumble upon many great budget finds that aren’t designer-inspired (or at least not that I would notice) and hence don’t get the same attention and love on this blog as the steal finds which, of course, is a shame. That’s why I like to occasionally highlight my favorite budget finds from time to time. ‘Nuff said, enjoy my list and let me know if you have any must-have adds of your own.

Budget Look – Blue Crush by Halogen

by Irina on April 28, 2015

Alright, I’ll admit it: I will officially love cobalt blue and stripes until the day I die! There’s just no way I could ever let go of these two personal faves of mine. When I recently browsed through Nordstrom’s newest arrivals the cobalt blue hobo bag and pants by Halogen instantly caught my eye and before I knew it I was already imagining an outfit around those items with stripes being a major part of this look, of course. Well, you know what they say: “If you can’t beat them, join them.” – which is exactly what I did. What do you think of my blue crush outfit?

When it comes to costume jewelry, I’m still undecided whether or not it’s worth taking the splurge. While I do love my beloved YSL Arty Ring, I must admit I haven’t gone all out on other custome jewelry yet simply because I prefer to either buy cheap jewelry or invest in classic gold or silver jewelry from the likes of Tiffany & Co. and others. But all the middle-priced stuff in between? Not so sure about that. This beautiful crystal-studded ring by Vita Fede however just might change my mind. I love how subtle and delicate it is, plus being 24k gold plated it’s not terribly expensive at $150. Decisions, decisions. What’s your opinion on that matter? Would you rather splurge or save?

UPDATE (03/23/2015): Stumbled upon this budget-friendly Vita Fede alternative by LC Lauren Conrad. Currently on sale for $10.50!

BaubleBar Ice Peak Pavé Ring

If you can’t make up your mind either or simply don’t want to splurge, here’s a great alternative from BaubleBar that won’t break the bank. The design is very similar to Vita Fede’s V Ring, but the price difference is huge since the BaubleBar version is currently on sale for a very wallet-friendly $20.

Express Stackable Pavé Chevron Ring Set

If you like a little bit more variety in your jewelry and want to save even further, then this ring set from Express might be your best choice. Again a similar design, but way cheaper than the real deal. $22.90 for two rings!

A few of our readers mailed us and asked for more jewelry to be featured here on this blog. Now while jewelry is admittedly not my strongest forte when it comes to finding steals, I will do my best to keep our readers satisfied. And what better way to start than with Tiffany & Co. jewelry? Introduced in 1995, the Atlas collection is named for the mythic Greek god who holds aloft an enormous globe. Created by John Loring, Tiffany design director emeritus, the Atlas collection explores the raised Roman numerals of its archetype, the Atlas watch. The collection encompasses necklaces, pendants and earrings to bangles and rings in 18 karat yellow, rose or white gold and sterling silver with diamonds. In this post we focus on the Atlas hinged bangle. The 18k gold version comes in at a whopping $6.5k – ouch!

Style Bloggers Love Tiffany & Co.

Various style and fashion bloggers such as Jessica from Tuula, Chiara Ferragni from The Blonde Salad and Aimee Song from Song of Style have all been spotted wearing the Tiffany & Co. Atlas Hinged Bangle.

Zenzii Roman Bangle

Luckily, you don’t have to rob a bank to get a similar look. These Roman bangles by Zenzii are a great alternative if you’re after the coveted Atlas bracelet. It’s not a total match because the Zenzii bangles feature more Roman numerals than the real deal, but it’s still a great look for less which will cost you only $28.95 instead of $6.500. Now that’s what I call a real steal!
