How yummy—and flattering—are these color-saturated frocks by French Connection? No wonder why the Fast Bonny Cotton Dress took the fast-track to celebrity favorite. It’s sassy, sexy, and so easy-to-wear.

LuLu*s On Broadway Dress
Although the French Connection Fast Bonny dress is a relative bargain at under $150, there is still a deal to be had. Check out LuLu*s On Broadway Dress, which is virtually a dead-ringer with its banded waist and bow-topped one-shoulder bodice—but only $48! Oh yes, we’re good. We’re very good.

I just adore a studded shoe. Well, truth be told, I’m loving a studded anything right about now. Thankfully there are more options this century than there were in the last one—we’ve moved beyond Bedazzler hideousness and full-on rocker paraphernalia. This lovely Prada sandal is a fab example of studs done right. There’s a hint of rebellion, but also a sort of 40s sensibility in the shape and structure of this shoe.

N.Y.L.A. “Naigel” Studded Platform Sandals
Yes, it’s true: celebrities (and even us mere mortals) love Prada. But the thought of stepping in a puddle or a crack while wearing a $636 suede-covered heel? Uh, I know that’s an idea I don’t love. If you’re of the same ilk, allow me to introduce “Naigel” by N.Y.L.A.. Now you can have all the studded, criss-crossed moxie of the Prada version, in a more resilient and less-expensive leather pair.

True confession: I have been sweatin’ these insanely hot L.A.M.B. platforms for a while. They meet all the V-requisites: part gladiatress, part S&M mistress; kind of sexy but kind of scary; superhigh and superfly—I don’t think superkawaii can apply because these babies have bad girl written all over them. That Gwen, she can make music, babies, and a killer pair of shoes—this pair is Zantastic!

Type Z “Cyke” Platform Sandals
UPDATE (09/08/2010): Although these platform sandals have a few differences (cork platform, red stitching), it’s still more than clear where Type Z got their inspiration from for these. Available in black or brown.

Michael Antonio “Teeter” Platform Sandals
As much as I worship the L.A.M.B. Zan, three bills is a bit steep for an Imelda-in-the-making like me. At the rate I buy shoes, that would quickly add up to $1,500 or so every couple months. And that’s a reality I’m not prepared to deal with at this point. A better reality is the “Teeter” by Michael Antonio. All the style of the Zan, for a whopping $68. You know what that means, don’t you? That’s $236 left for…you guessed it, honey…more shoes.

Black leather. A screamingly hot stiletto. Buckles. How do I love thee, Givenchy? Let me count the ways. One of my favorite trends of the last several years is the reintroduction and reinterpretation of the bootie. And Givenchy’s Slouchy Thong Ankle Boots are a winning pair, I must say.

Jessica Simpson “Dakee” Ankle Boots
UPDATE (08/31/2010): Woohoo! Here’s another fantastic Givenchy alternative which is only about half the price of the Marciano booties by Jessica Simpson. Available in black, camel & dark brown.

Marciano “Milap” Booties
I’m sure there are thousands of working-class fashionistas who regularly fantasize about being able to plunk $1.150 down on a pair of booties, at-whim. Even if that fantasy never comes to fruition, you can still indulge your inner diva with the “Milap” Booties by Marciano. Like the Givenchy pair, they’re black, buckled, and bold—and while they’re no steal deal, $247.95 beats the hell out of more than a grand, don’t you think?

Man, with so many fun wedges being produced—like the Surface To Air Wedge Buckle Ankle Boots—I can barely come up for air before I’m stalking yet another pair. It’s madness. Not it’s addiction. OK. Let’s just all recite this together, shall we?: My name is ____________, and I am a shoeaholic. My only saving grace is that I haven’t resorted to stealing to get my fix. And I’d almost have to to afford $470+ for this pair.
