Real vs. Steal – Alexander McQueen Peep-toe Sculpted Wedge Pumps

by Juliana on September 1, 2012

Update: This post has been updated on September 1, 2012. Scroll down to see the new add.

With movie remakes being all over theatres these days, my first thought upon seeing these fierce-looking Alexander McQueen shoes was how much I’d like to see them in a modernized version of The Wizard of Oz starring Lady Gaga as the Wicked Witch, wanting back her precious ruby shoes. But crazy ideas aside, they are pretty fabulous and definitely wearable this fall, especially when paired with a palette of deeply saturated reds, and classic black and white. But true to the artwork they are, these are for special occasions and the price tag is accordingly steep. Still, they flew off the shelves. But if you’re gaga over them, take a look around because some designers drew inspiration from these red slippers and created more affordable versions like the one below.

Privileged “Dexter” Curved Wedge Pumps

The key to wearing these pumps by Privileged with confidence, is balance. And not only just remaining upright (hopefully you have that part down) but regarding the rest of your outfit. So where to begin? Well, I’d suggest starting with a white button-down shirtdress with a full skirt or a black pencil dress with a peplum waist detail. Look for solid colors and simple shapes with a feminine sihouette. Next, keep accessories paired down to just two larger-scale statement pieces like a bold set of earrings and a glamourous cocktail ring; both will help you play up the jaw-dropping effect of these iconic platforms. Last, have fun! Shoes like these were designed to put a smile on your face. And considering the incredible price and color options (these are also available in black, nude, teal, fuchsia and yellow faux suede), you probably won’t stop smiling!
