Alexander McQueen‘s Fall 2009 collection was pretty much quintessential McQueen. Part macabre Rocky Horror Picture Show, part British Elegance meets Perfect Tailoring. My feelings towards this collection were mixed and the clown make-up HORRIFIED me, but I found myself adoring a few of the presented pieces. Houndstooth was a key element in McQueen’s fall designs and the jacket below was part of my favorite McQueen ensemble from that collection.

While this winter coat by BB Dakota isn’t strictly a knockoff, I’d say it’s at least inspired by the Alexander McQueen jacket above. I instantly fell in love with this coat and McQueen’s Fall 2009 collection was the first thing that came to my mind when I first saw it. It’s a timeless, feminine coat & ultra cute, too (the buttons, the belt, the voluminous hem *swoon*). Oh, and the price isn’t too shabby either for such a versatile fall/winter key item.
