Real vs. Steal – Camilla Skovgaard Zaha Open-Toe Booties
UPDATE: This post has been updated on December 29, 2009. Scroll down to see the new add.
One year ago I was not familiar with Camilla Skovgaard shoes. This quickly changed when I saw more and more celebrities wearing her shoe designs on the red carpet. Of all the new and upcoming shoe designers that are currently out there, Camilla has the biggest potential to become one of my absolute favorite shoe designers among the likes of Giuseppe Zanotti, Brian Atwood or Christian Louboutin.

Steven by Steve Madden “LINORE” Booties
Steve Madden did again what he does best – copying designer shoes. And I must admit I really like his interpretation of the “Zaha” ankle booties. Not quite the cheapest, but the quality looks great, don’t you agree?

Nine West “Abi” Open-Toe Ankle Boots
If you want to save some more cash, you might find yourself liking these Camilla Skovgaard knockoffs by Nine West. The heel on these is thicker and they have a platform which the originals don’t have, but overall they’re still a good alternative to the pricey Skovgaard booties.

Real vs. Steal – Giuseppe Zanotti Special Edition Crystal Strap Sandals
UPDATE: This post has been updated on February 15, 2010. Scroll down to see the new add.
I loved Giuseppe Zanotti’s Special Edition platforms sandals right from the start when I first spotted them on Heidi Klum’s feet back in April. They are so fierce & so incredibly high (I probably couldn’t even walk in these mega platforms, but still). These are truly some special heels! They originally retailed for $1.385 in black or gold. The gold version has since sold out, but the black one is now on sale for 30% less.

Office “STRIPTEASE” Suede Sandals
British and European Zanotti lovers can now snap up their personal Giuseppe heels 4 less by purchasing these platform sandals coming from Office. Real vs. Steal – Giuseppe Zanotti E96125 Platform Pumps
Most people either hate or love cork shoes. I belong to the latter – most probably because my mom used to have a pile of 70s style cork wedges in her closet with which I used to play dress-up with when I was little, so I guess I am a bit biased here. Giuseppe Zanotti seems to be on the cork-loving side as well since he designed a bunch of cork platform heels last spring just like these beautiful black patent platform pumps. Simple yet intriguing.

P.S.: Also available at The Shoe Box.
Jessica Simpson “Taneala” Platform Pumps
If you can’t afford the real deal, these platform pumps by Jessica Simpson are an excellent and almost identical alternative. Endless is selling these in an array of different colors including a gorgeous red patent as well as gold, animal and zebra print.

Restricted “Wildcard” Platform Pumps
These platform pumps by Restricted are also a great and budget-friendly alternative if you want Giuseppe Zanotti 4 less. They aren’t patent and the cork platform is significantly lower than on the originals, but overall they’re still a good match I think. Available in black, tan, yellow and green.

Real vs. Steal – Prada Studded T-Strap Sandals
I’ve been really loving Prada shoes as of late. Their footwear range for Spring and Fall 2009 was truly exceptional and just when I was starting to understand the appeal of Prada I was beyond disappointed to see lucite shoes return from fashion hell onto Prada’s Spring 2010 runway. Damn you, Miuccia Prada! I’m on a fashion rollercoaster with your fashion house. I do appreciate these studded t-strap sandals however also known as Ashley Olsen’s studded obsession.

($729, SOLD OUT)
The black version is sold out, but you can still grab the bone version on sale for $429 at Barney’s.

Michael Antonio “Tiff” T-Strap Sandals
If you can’t afford the real deal, Michael Antonio has an amazingly identical alternative for a lot, lot less. His t-strap sandals look just like the studded Prada heels except these come without the steep designer price. Available in either black, red or purple.

Celebrity Look 4 Less – Stephanie Pratt in Topshop
When I saw Stephanie Pratt dazzling in her black sequined LBD at the Ninja Assassin premiere back in November I remember thinking that her dress would make a great New Year’s Eve dress. I was quite surprised to find out this dress was by Topshop and hence reasonably priced.

Our Rating:

| What? | Topshop Zip Back Sequin Bodycon Dress, Camilla Skovgaard A9001 Over-the-knee Wedge Boots |
Oasis All Over Sequin Dress
Of course the Topshop dress sold out before I could even think of purchasing it. But imagine my delight when I stumbled upon an almost identical version for almost the same budget price. Oasis‘ version looks just as great and the only difference is that it doesn’t have the exposed zipper in the back which I kind of prefer actually.

Real vs. Steal – Akiko Ogawa Metal Plated Wedge Boots
I must admit I’ve never heard of Akiko Ogawa until a few months ago when I spotted a pair of her kickass metal plated wedge boots on the feet of model sensation Chanel Iman who rocked them during Fashion Week (discovered via Jak&Jil; a must read for every shoe aficionado). It was love at first sight and I became slightly obsessed with these cut-out wedge boots. However, up until now I wasn’t able to find out how much they retail for or where I can buy these boots in the first place which is probably for the better since I’m fairly certain I couldn’t afford them anyway.

Jeffrey Campbell “Madness” Wedge Boots
If you’re a regular here on InTheirCloset, you’re probably aware of Jeffrey Campbell’s inability to come up with own designs. Most of his shoes are either heavily inspired by designer footwear or are flat out copied replicas just like these boots which he rightfully named “Madness”. I seriously can’t spot one single difference when I look at both the designer and JC’s knocked-off version. Can you? If you like what you see and are still in need of a pair of badass boots to float around in the snow, be FAST! This style is going to sell out in no time!

Real vs. Steal – Alexander McQueen “Faithful” Peep-toe Ankle Boots
UPDATE: This post has been updated on December 21, 2009. Scroll down to see the new add.
I wonder if – one fine day – I will be the happy owner of a pair of Alexander McQueen heels. I would LOVE to, but thinking that his shoes go for more than 1k per pair, I somehow doubt this is ever going to happen. Not with that kind of budget at least. Anyone out there bothering to tell me the secret of getting rich quick? My shoe addiction refuses to wait any longer to be satisfied.

Michael Antonio “Monet” Zipper Booties
UPDATE (11/19/2009): Woohoo! I didn’t expect to find a knockoff just as good as the Steve Maddens, but then I stumbled upon these zipper booties by Michael Antonio. They look just as good AND are way cheaper, too. Yay! Also available in brown, berry, grey and red.

Steve Madden “SERYNA” Peep-toe Ankle Boots
I love and hate Steve Madden. Hate because his collection is mostly based on other people’s creativity and LOVE because it makes being fashionable on a budget SO much easier without having to compromise the designer look of a shoe.
These Alexander McQueen knockoffs are almost identical, the only thing that’s different is that the zipper isn’t a skull shape, but everything else could pass as the original. The ankle boots are currently on pre-order and will be ready to ship in approx. 4 weeks. However I wouldn’t wait too long to order as this style is probably one of the first to sell out.

Celebrity Look 4 Less – Victoria Beckham in Alexander McQueen & Miu Miu
Back in March Victoria Beckham was rocking a dress from one of my favorite designers, Alexander McQueen, from one of my favorite collections of his, Resort 2009, with a pair of lustworthy Miu Miu whipstitch pumps, also one of my favorite shoes this year. The singer-turned-designer looked lovely in the striped column dress and now you can steal her look for a fraction of the price.

Real vs. Steal – Twelfth Street by Cynthia Vincent Luella Wedges
UPDATE: This post has been updated on December 29, 2009. Scroll down to read the news.
I have previously written about these platform wedges by Cynthia Vincent because a few months ago people were frequently mailing requests and asked where they could buy the cute gladiator wedges as seen on Vanessa Hudgens. These shoes sold out like hot cakes the first time round, but are now available again, so if you’re already thinking about enhancing your spring/summer wardrobe, this is your chance to grab a pair of these kickass heels everyone is gonna be envious about.

Jessica Simpson “Adreana” Wedges
UPDATE (12/29/2009): Jessica Simpson’s “Adreana” wedges are now available in a beautiful tan version at Zappos and Endless which comes pretty close to Vanessa’s version (see picture below).
When I saw these platform wedges by Jessica Simpson they instantly reminded me of the Cynthia Vincent wedges. They miss 2 buckles on the lower straps, but everything else looks almost identical. Available in tan (pictured), fudge or black.
