Real vs. Steal – Tory Burch Lace-up Leather Boots
UPDATE: This post has been updated on October 31, 2009. Scroll down to see the new knockoff.
I never paid that much attention to Tory Burch until now, but these lace-up boots here definitely put her on my radar. I like the masculine shape, the buckles and chunky heel and I think they’d look fantastic if paired with a feminine floral dress to balance out the look and put in some extra contrast.

Dollhouse “Rogeri” Lace-up Boots
UPDATE (10/31/2009): Found another, much cheaper Tory Burch knockoff pair by Dollhouse which also looks more like the original actually.
Dollhouse “Rogeri” Lace-up Boots
($64.95, Endless)
P.S.: Also available at Dollhouse.
RSVP “Beatrice” Lace-Up Boots
While these boots by RSVP might not be blatant knockoffs I think they still qualify as a great alternative if you are looking for a cheaper version of the Tory Burch boots. They are not quite what I’d call a steal at $169 a pair, but still about $430 less than the originals. Also available in brown (my personal favorite!).

Real vs. Steal – Alexander McQueen Studded Platform Booties
UPDATE: This post has been updated on December 10, 2009. Scroll down to see the new add.
It’s quite rare to find a designer who does not only great clothes, but also great shoes. The genius that is Alexander McQueen certainly belongs into this category. I always look forward to what he’s coming up with season after season.
His shoe designs are sometimes crazy, sometimes painfully cute or edgy or just badass like these grommet slingback booties below. But they are always unique. There is ONE thing that bugs me about his shoes though: the PRICE, of course! Despite being on sale, you’d still have to shell out more than $600 to own these kickass heels. Sadly, this is no option for me.

Steve Madden “TUTORR” Slingback Booties

Nine West “Palomino” Sandals
If you are looking for the same style without the hefty price tag, these t-strap peep-toes by Nine West are a great alternative if you want Louboutin 4 less. The heel on these is not as high and they don’t have the double platform, but the overall look of these shoes is almost identical compared to the real deal. They retail for $89 which is quite affordable and come in a multitude of colors including black, brown and purple suede as well as black and brown leather.

In Ashley Tisdale’s Closet – Free People Love City Ponte Dress
A few weeks ago High School Musical star Ashley Tisdale was spotted out and about in LA looking all business in a black Free People shift dress which she accessorized with her lustworthy Alexander Wang Coco Duffel bag, oversized black Chanel sunglasses and nude Louboutin peep-toes. I love this look and would don a one to one copy to wear around the office!

In Eva Longoria’s Closet – Marchesa Ombré Fringed Dress
Last year at the 60th Primetime Emmy Awards Eva Longoria stunned on the red carpet in a gorgeous fringed mini dress by Marchesa. You gotta love Marchesa’s attention to detail: just look at the intricately bead-embroidered bow! I adore this dress, but am not anywhere near at being able to afford a $6.000 dress.

Marchesa Ombré Fringed Dress
Well, I might not have a knockoff of this dress at hand, but the awesome guys at theOutnet.com managed to get this dress at the most amazing price. Believe it or not, but they are selling it for 75% OFF! Now I am well aware that even the highly discounted price is by standard means still very pricey, but I just had to feature this amazing deal (and more Marchesa deals will follow shortly…) for all those fashionistas with bigger shopping budgets (you lucky gals!) who love a great deal and are looking for an extravagant little something to wear to special occasion (a wedding maybe?).

Real vs. Steal – Chloé “Susan” Studded Ankle Boots
UPDATE: This post has been updated on October 27, 2009. Scroll down to read the news.
If you are familiar with the fashion blogosphere I’m pretty sure you will all remember the studded Chloé ankle boots below as they’ve created quite a buzz among fashion bloggers last year. Even though they cost over ONE THOURSAND a pair, people bought them like crazy and the boots soon were sold out everywhere.

Chloé “Susan” Studded Ankle Boots
($1.245, SOLD OUT)
Chloé Pre-Fall 2008
The studded ankle boots were part of Chloé’s Pre-Fall 2008 collection and came in an array of colors like red, white, black and green (my personal favorite!).

Kate Bosworth & Sienna Miller Love Chloé
Famous fashionistas Kate Bosworth and Sienna Miller both sported the studded ankle boots in red. Kate was literally obsessed with those boots and wore them whenever possible last year. And can we blame her? They are so cute and both women looked absolutely fabulous wearing them, didn’t they?

Office Manic Stud Strap Boots
UPDATE (10/27/2009): Office have just restocked their awesome, almost identical Chloé knockoffs for the 3rd time. If you missed on these in the past, this is probably your last chance to get hold of these cuties. Order them before they sell out once again!

Jeffrey Campbell “Starburst” Studded Booties
Free People always seems to get the best Jeffrey Campbell knockoffs. First they got the awesome Ann Deumeulemeester lace-up boots and now they sell knockoffs of the iconic Chloé studded ankle boots (Free People call this style “Northern Lights” while JC and other retailers named it “Starburst”).
Don’t they look almost identical? The heel is a bit off, but the studs and buckles are pretty close. The only downsides are that the Jeffrey Campbell studded booties don’t come in red and retail for not so affordable $198. But the boots are available in black, white and brown, so if you always wanted a budget-friendlier alternative, these Jeffrey Campbell knockoffs are probably your last and only chance as the Chloés are a couple of seasons old now.

Real vs. Steal – Sergio Rossi “Narrow” Zip Sandals
These sandals by Sergio Rossi are certainly chic and all, but to be honest, I wouldn’t shell out $670 for them even if I had that kind of shopping budget. Would you? If for some reason however I would stumble upon a great inspired-by pair, then why not?

Sergio Rossi “Narrow” Zip Sandals
($670, SOLD OUT)
P.S.: Available in blue and khaki at Zappos for discounted $314.

Nine West “Maxeeme” Sandals
If you’re like me and cringe at the thought of spending so much on a pair of shoes, Nine West has a great alternative. Their Sergio Rossi knockoffs are spot-on and the only noticeable difference is the heel which is straight on the Nine West sandals. They retail for budget-friendly $68.95 and also come in dark red & dark blue.

P.S.: Also available at Zappos.
BCBGeneration “Levona” Sandals
If you’re willing to spend a few extra bucks to get a little closer to the Sergio Rossi sandals, these zip sandals by BCBGeneration are also a great look 4 less alternative which will cost you less than 1/7 of the originals price. However, Zappos has only very limited stock on these, so you better be quick to order.

The Christian Louboutin lace-up ankle boots below look brilliant, don’t you think? I love the 19th century reference and the black suede and lace-up detail would look amazing with a wool dress and thick black tights in winter.

Steve Madden “MISTRES” Lace-Up Booties
Looking at these ankle booties by Steve Madden it’s not hard to imagine where the inspiration for them came from. They may not be not suede and have a platform, but I still feel they are a great alternative if you can’t afford the real Louboutins because being priced at $139.95 they are about 90% less than the original Louboutin ankle boots.

Real vs. Steal – YSL Cut-Out Platform Sandals
UPDATE: This post has been updated on October 22, 2009. Scroll down to see the new knockoff.
There’s something about YSL shoes that always keeps me fascinated. I think it’s how most of their shoes have this chunky, awfully impractical platform and the resulting ultra-high stiletto heel that comes with such a platform shape. Perfect examples are the Tribute sandals, the infamous YSL Trib Two pumps and also these black suede platform sandals below which I find myself being quite fond of.
Yves Saint Laurent Cutout Platform Sandals
($870, Bergdorf Goodman)
P.S.: Also available in brown at MyTheresa on sale for $455.
Kylie Minogue Loves YSL
Kylie Minogue has always been a dedicated fan of Yves Saint Laurent and can be often seen wearing something YSL like 2 days ago when she was papped at the airport in Lisbon, Portugal wearing the cutout platforms.

Bebe Maya Leather Cutout Sandal
For weeks I was desperately trying to identify these Bebe knockoffs. I think I already mentioned my knockoff intuition in a previous post. I knew that these platforms were designer knockoffs, but I just couldn’t put my finger on it. The mystery is now finally resolved.
If you prefer a different color and want to cut off the price by more than 50%, there is also a tiger-printed suede version of the Maya sandal available which is on sale for $38.49.

Real vs. Steal – Alice + Olivia Draped Panel Dress
This berry-colored tulip dress by Alice + Olivia received a lot of celebrity love in the last few months and while I agree that it’s a nice dress, I really don’t think it justifies the heavy price tag (even not the 30% OFF sale price) if you consider how much of a simple dress it is.
