The colorblock tube dress below was one of my favorite pieces from Alexander Wang‘s Spring 2009 collection, but at one point the dress became so popular that I was sick of seeing it every second day on the red carpet. Now that the overexposure has stopped, my love returned, but unfortunately the dress has sold out since. Not that I could’ve afforded it when it was still available.

Have you already started shopping for fall already? Crazy how fast summer went by, huh? As much as I love summer and all the nice features attached to it (e.g. warm weather, beach days & floaty summer dresses) I am just as much looking forward to fall. I love autumn weather, cozying up in warm wool coats and looking très chic in suede boots. The Christian Louboutin boots below would be a great addition to my shoe closet, but paying more than 1k for shoes does not really fit in my budget.

Michael Antonio “Macey” Ankle Booties
These ankle booties by Michael Antonio instantly reminded me of the Louboutin ankle boots though the buckle on these does vary slightly. The shape and overall look however is clearly inspired by the Loubies. Best thing about these booties here is that they are very budget-friendly at $54.95 and they come in 5 different colors including black leather (shown below), black suede, red suede, grey suede (my favorite!) and tan suede. If you haven’t invested in a good pair of shoes suitable for autumn weather, you might consider buying these.

In one of Gossip Girl’s episodes called “The Grandfather“, Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester) wore an unusually sexy, figure-hugging Hervé Léger bandage mini dress with white criss cross inlays. 2 weeks ago singer Carrie Underwood was doing a taping of CMT Invitation Only looking feminine yet sexy in an ivory sleeveless lace dress and a pair of taupe knee-high boots, both by Bebe & hence relatively affordable for us mortals, too. Yay!

Look what I found! If you missed out on the Martinez Valero heels or just couldn’t justify the $160 price tag, these satin pumps by RSVP look almost identical, but are $60 cheaper. Available in blue, black, ivory and white. Grab these knockoffs while you can, I’m sure they are going to sell out super fast.

I know these satin pumps by Shiekh aren’t exactly knockoffs, but the blue satin and the vamp embellishment reminded me of the Manolo Blahniks above and since these here resemble the Sedaraby pumps by Blahnik famously worn by Carrie Bradshaw a lot, I thought I just put them here as a budget-friendly alternative for under $50. Just in case you lived under a rock for the last few months – thigh high boots are BIG this fall. Designers like Stella McCartney, Rodarte, Louis Vuitton, Prada, Chloé and many, many more have included over-the-knee footwear into their Fall 2009 collection. Celebrities such as Victoria Beckham or Shakira are already incorporating this trend into their wardrobes and I’ve seen a few editorials showing this controversial footwear as well. They may not be to everyone’s taste, but whether you like it or not: this is not the last time you’ll see thigh-high boots this fall.

Leave it to Jeffrey Campbell to adapt this new, daring trend first and make it available to women without a $2000 shoe budget. His Stella McCartney inspired perforated over-the-knee boots may not fully live up to the real deal, but they’re still a fabulous alternative for a fraction of the original’s price. If only they would’ve kept the metal cap platform, but at that price I guess you just can’t have it all. Also available in taupe/grey leather and black suede.

I was ecstatic to find a knockoff of these Louboutin booties and love Michael Antonio’s “inspired” version for an array of reasons: 1.) it’s an almost exact match to the Loubies, 2.) it’s a style I would personally wear to death and 3.) being priced at just $54.95 it’s super affordable. Oh… and if you like a different color or fabric, the booties come in a total of 6 different versions including grey, black, brown and purple suede as well as black patent and black faux leather.

When I was younger I used to have a phase when I would refuse to wear anything else than jeans and a graphic tee. I remember how I thought I was so fab back then. Alice + Olivia is usually not a brand associated with knockoffs, but the printed t-shirt below with the big black bow is obviously the original brainchild of Lanvin’s Alber Elbaz. I don’t know how I feel about upscale knockoffs to be honest. Take this tee for example: it’s not exactly a steal at $198. And it ain’t the real Lanvin either. If you’re willing to shell out almost $200 of your hard-earned money, do you want to run around in what’s just an expensive copy in the end? Knowing that for an additional $100 you could’ve owned the original? I don’t think so. However, if you’re not able to track the Lanvin down, you may be excused to go for this look-a-like.

With her high-end Lauren Conrad Collection on hiatus reality TV star Lauren Conrad finally moved on to launch her new and improved apparel line for Kohl’s with prices averaging between $20 to $60.
Lauren describes her new economically priced clothing line as “… a California chic line,” and says “It is a little more casual. They are basically trying to take that California style and make it accessible everywhere.“
In one of the adverts for the line Lauren is wearing a beautiful floral watercolor dress which I have instantly fallen in love with. Imagine my excitement when I found out the dress is only $60. Hello, sold.
