Designer Fashion 4 Less – Valentino Bow D’Orsay Pumps
Red pumps – every woman should have at least one pair in her closet. Slip them on and you’ll have an instantly sexed up outfit. The red patent Valentino bow peep-toe pump below is one of the most lustworthy shoes I’ve seen in a while. I adore everything about it. The rich color, the stiletto heel and of course the cute big bow on the vamp. It’s a great mixture between being sexy (red color) and elegant (bow). If you opt for the original, it will set you back $695. Also available in black.

Thanks to Paris Hilton and her copycat designer team you can now buy a very cute and super similar Valentino bow pump version for much, much less. Don’t they look awesome for knockoffs? I’m kind of in love with them (mostly because of the stolen design and most importantly – the price). The Valentino look-a-likes are available in either red, black, silver or blue patent and will cost you $93.

Designer Fashion 4 Less – Balmain Fall 2009 Sequin Train Dress
Balmainia! It just won’t stop. For many months now the newly revived Balmain has been the “it” designer label in Fashionville. And as much as I hate being overly consumed by a trend, I just can’t help but love it. I’m so excited to see what Christophe Decarnin comes up with for the Spring 2010 collection. Are we going to see peaked shoulders and ultra-short mini dresses again? Time will tell.
In the meantime we’ll have to drool at all the pieces from this year’s fall collection and may I say it’s been a wonderful one (I think I’m saying this for the 100th time!)? Some of the strapless mini dresses had long ruffled back trains to create a dramatic effect. Not the most practical accessory, but certainly a show-stopping one. The strapless dress below hasn’t hit the stores yet, so the retail price is unknown, but Balmain dresses usually sell for $6k-$10k. Expensive doesn’t even come close.

Bebe doing Balmain. Sounds repetitive, no? I guess they won’t stop until the Balmain fever is over. This silver strapless sequin dress is Bebe’s interpretation of the Balmain dress above. A budget version (even though $198 aren’t exactly what I’d call a steal). The train is not as dramatic as on the original and can also be removed. You have the choice to either glam it up and go for an extravagant look or sex it up and settle for the sexy mini version.

Kim Kardashian’s style transformation is nothing short of amazing. I remember the times (circa 2007) when Kim would refuse to wear anything else than a body-con Hervé Léger dress on the red carpet and Juicy Couture sweatpants when out in public. A lot has changed since then and I’m glad it changed for the better. Today’s Kim prefers sophisticated dresses and isn’t afraid of taking risks with edgy pieces like a structured Balmain blazer. Brava!
Kim attended the LA premiere of Orphan yesterday looking fabulous in a white Proenza Schouler bustier dress. She accessorized her ensemble with a YSL cage belt and the infamous YSL Trib Two pumps. A black Christian Louboutin satin clutch completed Kim’s elegant red carpet look.

Designer Fashion 4 Less – Jimmy Choo Atlas Strappy Sandals
Every woman should have at least one pair of strappy stiletto sandals in every basic color (like black, white, red, nude) because a strappy sandal makes a woman’s feet look instantly sexy. It sure isn’t easy walking around in high stiletto heels without looking like a squint-eyed, drunk stork, but once you have the hang of it, you’ll agree that it very well is worth the effort and pain. Designer Fashion 4 Less – Balmain Fall 2009 Silver Strapless Dress
Hey everyone! I am officially back and so happy to be able to post again as I’ve missed blogging here so much. And I’m glad to return with a very sweet knockoff. Balmain’s Fall 2009 collection may have had a touch of déjà vù about it, but overall it was still kick-ass. No one does sexy mini dresses better than Balmain’s lead designer Christophe Decarnin. Exhibit A: see photo below.
The beautiful supermodel Anja Rubik has worn the silver sequinned number to this year’s Costume Institute Gala. If you don’t have $6.000-$8.000 lying around, but still covet the dress, just read on.

Bebe is determined to ride the Balmain wave until the very end. Once again they have replicated a dress which is very reminiscient of the above shown Balmain Fall 2009 strapless mini dress. Bebe’s version might have spaghetti straps and the ruffles on the skirt differ slightly, but it’s more than obvious that the dress is inspired by Balmain.

In Lauren Conrad’s Closet – Lauren Conrad Christina Dress
Lauren Conrad’s clothing line was – as are most celebrity clothing lines – a big fail and wrapped soon after its initial release. I really wasn’t fond of her collection – generic, lackluster pieces and overpriced on top of that. There was one dress however which managed to impress me and this dress has been worn by LC herself (didn’t happen too often with all her other designs though).
Lauren wore the “Christina” dress, a cobalt blue one-shoulder ruched pencil dress, to the 2008 MTV Movie Awards. And for once we were able to see Lauren’s curvy body. Definitely one of my favorite LC red carpet looks.
