I haven’t written about Barbara Bui shoes for a long time, but these shiny black python print platform high heels definitely deserve a mention. At first they looked Alexander Wang-ish to me due to their sexy yet sporty vibe which is a signature style of Wang. I was quite surprised to learn that these are actually one of Bui’s creations. What didn’t surprise me though? The steep price tag of $1.375! Because Barbara Bui + that kind of “Made in Italy“-craftmanship comes at a price.

Most of us won’t be able to afford the Barbara Bui heels, but with a little saving we might get the second best thing to the real deal which are these fabulous Bui look-a-likes by MIA Limited Edition. They’re not exactly what I’d consider a steal at $229 and I really wish they’d kept the pale pink insole, but the overall look is so staggeringly similar that I really don’t care too much. And since white heels are going to be huge this year, these are also available in white.

Real vs. Steal – Equipment Sophie Striped Silk-Chiffon Shirt

I’ve heard a lot of good things about the newly re-launched brand Equipment. Their blouses and shirts are supposed to be top notch quality and they quickly gained a loyal celebrity following since their re-launch in 2010. Fashion insiders like Carine Roitfeld and Giovanna Battaglia are fans as well. While I can’t comment on the quality of Equipment clothing myself (yet!) and hence can’t say whether it’s worth the splurge, I sure can say that I absolutely love the look of this semi-sheer striped silk-chiffon shirt in cream and black! I mean it has stripes on it, and as you might already know that’s all it takes to get me swooning over something!

LC Lauren Conrad Striped Chiffon Blouse

Now look which celebrity socialite is taking inspiration from her own designer wardrobe for her budget-priced fashion line! When I saw this LC Lauren Conrad chiffon blouse I was instantly reminded of the Equipment striped shirt. And besides the slight variation in color and the crochet collar, I can’t really see any visual differences between these two (not talking about quality here!). Chances are you’ve already seen these rhinestoned two-tone t-strap flats by ZARA somewhere. Maybe you saw them on a style blog (or many, as I have) or maybe you spotted them on someone else’s feet out in the streets last summer; you might even have contemplated getting them yourself while perusing the ZARA store for the latest fashion finds. I’m not sure whether ZARA designed these with some other designer shoe in mind (not that I know of) since they like to “borrow” from the latest runway styles. Anyway, these t-strap flats became quite the hot seller and sold out at full-price in no time.

Anyway, better get them now before these sell out as well and so you’re ready to rock a pair of super cute summer shoes when warmer weather comes around.

Posting a steal find for an Alexander McQueen item always makes me a little sad because I feel very strongly about the brand and the designer and would like to be able to support it by buying the real deal, however my budget says otherwise. McQueen’s iconic skull print scarves have been around for a while now and it didn’t take long before they became a celebrity staple. And who can blame them really? The scarves, which are now available in a million color combinations, are absolutely fabulous; scary skulls printed on delicate silk? Gotta love the contradiction. What’s not to love though? The price of almost $300, obviously.

While doing my daily browsing on Amazon I discovered that StyleInch have an incredibly similar pair of skull print chiffon scarves which they are selling for $19.99; a fraction of the original’s price. Sure, you can’t expect the same quality, but if you’re looking for inexpensive Alexander McQueen skull print scarf look-a-likes, this is the place to go. And the best part? The scarves are available in an array of different colors like blue, grey, green, pink and many more. I’ve bought these scarves myself in 3 colors and love them! They’re super soft and definitely worth the price! Probably gonna order all the other colors as well.
